Do our children and teens really know about the 3 Angels’

Messages? Or have they heard about it at all? If they have, do they understand it? Has anyone really taught them about Revelation 14, God’s end-time messages? I don’t think there has been a systematic approach in teaching these important messages.

It’s time that children’s leaders, teachers, and parents be intentional in teaching our children and teens about God’s special end-time messages to prepare a people “who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus” (Rev 14:12).

The First Angel’s Message calls for us to teach our children to recognize and to worship the true God who created the heavens and the earth. Everyone will be judged before the Second Coming of Jesus.

The Second Angel’s Message is a warning message. This is where we want to help our children recognize a false gospel and system of worship that cannot save us, but only Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross can redeem us. Satan will also lead people to Spiritualistic forms of false worship.

The Third and final Message urgently warns us not to worship the beast but remain loyal and faithful to the true God by keeping his commandments and keeping His Sabbath.

We want to ground them in the understanding of the first, the second, and the third Angels’ Messages so that they in turn can share it and preach it to their friends.

May the Word of God stay in their hearts.

COME, YE CHILDREN, HEARKEN UNTO ME: I WILL

TEACH YOU THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

(PSALM 34:11, NKJV)

TO OUR CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES TEAM!

The wise man Solomon in Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a time for everything in our life—a time to live, a time to heal, a time to plant, etc. So for this year 2021, it is a time of goodbyes! We are sad to say goodbye to several of our colleagues.

To Caroline, Clair, Dinorah, Elsa, Lisa, and Litiana, thanks for being on our team together for so many years of dedicated service. You have impacted many children whose lives have been changed.

You have provided outstanding training for children’s teachers and leaders.

As you move on to another milestone in your life, may God bless you all with good health and energy and continued passion for the little lambs in our church and in the community.

Let’s stay connected with each other and it’s my prayer that we will meet again in the heavenly home.

Dear Caroline,

Everything changes in this world:

times changes, one’s job can

change, but people we meet

on the way serving God and

children, always remain in our

hearts. You are an example of a

sincere minister for children and

a role model of a gentle woman.

I know that you will always be

this way, since our Lord Jesus

Christ abides in your heart.

With love and prayer,

Zhanna Kaminskaya, ESD

Dear Litiana,There are not words for that, I cannot even imagine our Zoom meetings and other meetings without you. We will not hear your jokes and your catching laughter. But I do know that no matter what ministry you’ll be doing, you will remain cheerful and joyful. And it cannot be the other way with a person who works with children.

Let you have a pleasant journey following Christ! With love and respect,Zhanna Kaminskaya, ESD

Dear Elsa, at first I would like to thank God for letting us meet on

the way of ministering to children. I thank you for being a bright

example of a strong CHM leader.

Everything on this Earth is built on saying good byes and meeting new people. But the best is yet to come:

it is a meeting in the Heavenly Kingdom. There you and me could serve a lof of children of God! A great ship requires deep waters!

With love,Zhanna Kaminskaya, ESD

Dear Clair, thank you for all your

materials, letters, seminars and

many other things you did for

Childrens Ministries department.

You have taught us many things.

You are an example of a sincere and

dedicated worker for children and

you’ve always inspired me.

I know that the one who comes to

CHM remains with kids foverer. Let

you meet a lot of children on your

new way, you will hug them as a

mother and tell them about God’s

love.

Zhanna Kaminskaya, ESD

Dear Elsa and Clair,I still remember the frist time I met you during the Advisory 2016. I found lots of love, care and support from you. It has been my great honor and delight to get to know people like you who have a great passion for CHM. You truly love the Lord and care for His children. Your ideas, insights and resources have been so

inspiring and I learned so much from you. Thank you so much for your wonderful ministry and your greatly appreciated contribution for CHM

I wish you God’s abundant blessings and plentiful grace as you start a new chapter of your life. You will be truly missed but never forgotten.

Clair,You first touched me with the detailed explanation on messy church and how to go about it and later much on your calm and warm personality. I was then new and very inexperienced in Children’s Ministries but your way of explanation and kind gesture have continually inspired me to find innovative ways and keep looking for opportunities to serve children better. You will definitely be missed as a gifted, loving, and kind partner in ministry. I pray for your blessed and healthy retirement years with wonderful time with family and grandchildren!

friend and a sister. Elsa, you have

blessed me and our team with such

caring friendship. I deeply appreciate

your sharing of clear vision and

ideas in ministry. It is always an

honor to work with those who

care deeply for children and their

spirituality. I have learned a lot

from working with you over the

years. With your gifts and talents,

you have paved a clear way to serve

and passed on the legacy in your

division. My prayers will always

be with you and family for vibrant

Dear Litiana, ma sœur 😉Life and CHM gave us the opportunity to meet and to get connected despite of the distances. It has been a wonderful opportunity and privilege to share common dreams and projects as also programs for our territories. Now, as you are called to serve in some other area of ministry, I’m sure that you will continue keeping in your heart children and their spiritual needs. It may be possible that we’ll not have the opportunity to meet very soon because of the distances that separate us... but this will not hinder us to keep each other connected by prayers and love.

Elsa Cozzi, EUD

Dear Litiana,

You are a sweet team member and you are

genuine in your passion for children. We only spent

one quinquennium together, but it was full of fun and great contribution from your part.

Continue to glow with passion for mission to the children. God will order your footsteps in life and

make your life a blessing to many. We will miss you in our team.

Omobonike Sessou, WAD

Dear Mama Chola,

There is time for everything

under the sun, the time to come

and the time to leave. The most

important thing is how well we

achieve the mission given to us

by the Master, Jesus. I praise God

that you have left a legacy of love

and commitment to the children

and their parents in SID and even

in the world church. Thank you

for your unceasing labour to

defend the vulnerable little ones.

Of course, your absence will be

felt in our CHM team, but we

will be comforted with the sweet

memories we shared together. God

bless you and your entire family as

you move on to new endeavors in

life.

Omobonike Sessou, WAD

Dearest Caro’

You were one of the first people I connected to when I became the Associate CHM’s Director for the SPD back in 2006, and oh how much I loved hearing about your amazing Division and the exciting things you would do with your women and children there. Caroline my dear sister, your ever ready smile, your “can do” attitude, love for Jesus and positivity will be missed. It has been my privilege to work alongside you, and I will always be grateful to the Lord for granting us the opportunity to connect and share a little in South Africa back in 2013. May our ALWAYS faithful and loving God continue to bless and multiply the work of your

hands and heart my sister. Love you long time Caro’ my sister! xoxox

My sister, we’ve only been

working together for such a brief

time, and I have appreciated

getting to know you a little and

I am so very sorry that your

expertise is lost from around the

eager to share and support in

this ministry. Lisa I am unsure

where the Lord has called you

to work in next however I

am certain that your love for

Jesus, attention to detail and

professionalism will be highly

valued within that space. Sister,

wishing you a safe transition

to where your next “adventure”

awaits, please drop us a line

every now and then, so that we

may know that God continues to

do the wondrous things in you

He’s already been doing. Peace

Dear Caroline and Litiana,

We know each other for not so long, but I appreciated your contribution to the Children’s Ministries. Your passion and your input of ideas prove that you are

I am already missing my dear

Linda and rest of friends. I still

believe we were the best team.

We learned to rely and be part

of a great and united front

with one thing in mind: to take

our children and adolescents to

a better height closer to Jesus.

I am sorry that we will not

have the chance again to meet

and enjoy time together. I

learned so much from you and

all of you.

Life and God's work will

continue and we will be

together again in a place

where Covid, suffering, stress,

anguish, separation, politics,

illness will be no more. What a

day that will be!

Let's continue uplifting one

another, helping and praying

for each other, our families,

and the many children and

adolescents that need love,

understanding, food, shelter,

and above all, a loving Savior.

Dearest DinorahWHY??? Por que hermana, I’ve known I was going since 2019 when my Division

voted not to have the Ministry/Discipleship Teams at the SPD office, however you my sister- Dinorah, you

have been such a constant in the World Division Children’s Ministries Team. Creating innovative new resources,

sharing so unselfishly from your cache of resources we the rest of the world

church have been blessed by the resources created by you and the Inter-

America Division and so we will be a little poorer when we lose you from

around the Children’s Ministries Table. Dinorah, thank you for your cheekiness,

your laughter, your beautiful deep rich voice and flamboyant style, I will definitely miss you and am so sad, we did not get to share some adventures

in my part of the world. However I will always be grateful to Elsa for having

her Division Conference in Italy in 2019, which the Lord provided a way for our

husbands to meet, and share a day or so adventures together. Hermana, we look forward to heaven and the

blessing of meeting Jesus face to face and thanking Him for the privileges of a life lived in His service. Thank you Dinorah for ALL you have done

for children and young people in your Division. May our faithful and gracious God continue to watch and sing over you my sister! Hey enjoy your sleep

ins now there will be no more of those early ZOOM call meetings with the

CHM team…maybe I should set one up for us once a quarter, just so we stay connected…Ha… ha.. ha… Love you

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for you kind words. I am retiring after nearly 40 years of service and I am actually quite excited about going home. I know

my husband and I can also contribute

there. For those who know me well, they will know that I already have many plans but of course I want

to do those together with the Holy Spirit. I have loved getting to know

you all and wish those who are still remaining in Children’s Ministries

God’s richest blessings as you are the voices of the children.

I want to say a special thank you to Linda for being who she is. An

inspirator, energy full lady, absolutely

wonderful to work with and someone who has children in her heart.

Also a big thank you to Tanya. You have been an amazing PA who has

gone above and beyond many times. May God continue to bless you.

My dear friends may we all meet again in heaven where joy will be

overflowing for sure.

Blessings,Clair Sanches, TED

Thank you Dinorah for you kind words. You are right, an era is coming to an

end… and new and different things are on the way.

Linda, we’ll always keep great and wonderful memories of the times we

shared together at CHM. This also thanks to you as our leader and mentor.

We became friends and were able to appreciate each other talents and

capacities and work together for the same goals despite of our cultural

and ethnics backgrounds. This is not so common even in our organisation

settings.

Thank you my friends (in alphabetical order) Amal, Caroline, Claire, Debbie, Gerry, Glaucia, Joyce, Lisa, Litiana,

Milly, Nike, Sherry, Svetlana, Tanya and Zhanna for having shared part of your life, talents and passion for children

with me.

Luckily friendship can be kept beyond nominations and positions in the

organisation. For sure I’ll continue to pray for my CHM friends as I know that

you will pray for me.

May God be with all of us as we go through challenges of transition and

new journeys of life.

I already miss each and everyone of you.

Take care!!Elsa Cozzi, EUD

Dear Linda, thank you for having given us the opportunity to become such a wonderful team of friends and colleagues. It is not always like that and we really enjoyed

the good spirit of companionship we built together. We will deeply miss each other very much.I hope we’ll have some other opportunities

to meet and share good memories... until then let’s keep united by prayers. As already some of you have written... if

we’ll not have the possibility to meet on this earth for sure we’ll meet at Jesus

return to celebrate all together for ever. That will be wonderful... what a joy!!! Hugs to all of you my dear sistersElsa Cozzi, EUD

GLOBAL VIRTUAL CAMPMEETING

A first of its kind for GC, the Global Virtual Campmeeting was well executed with every division participating. The CHM booth had many visitors who viewed our resources, videos, seminars, etc. We thank all division and attached union directors who worked hard to prepare videos to showcase their children’s programs. It was wonderful to witness children doing cooking demonstrations, telling stories, reciting memory verses, preaching, singing, and many more.

We uploaded more than a hundred videos onto our YouTube Channel. We also linked programs from several divisions from our CHM booth. The collaboration of the team was excellent! A big thank you to all our division and attached union directors for their outstanding contribution. (Statistics)

GLOBAL ADVENTIST CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

We will be holding an international CHM conference on January 21-23, 2022. This would be a wonder opportunity to learn new ideas from research, network with other leaders and encourage one another. Division/attached union directors will also be asked to give a short report of children involvement in the mission of the church.

So look out for announcements and promotional flyers coming your way.

THREE ANGELS’ MESSAGES PROJECT

A new project for children is coming your way! This is in line with one of the themes for this quinquennium—the Three Angels’ Messages as found in Revelation 14. We have this plan in place:

• 6 animations of short stories that teach these messages — 3 have been completed.

• A Bible study set with 8 lessons is being prepared by Randy Fishell.

• 3 Angels’ Messages Activity book.

KIDS’ TALENTS FOR JESUS

It was a such a joy to see so many children participated in the 25th Anniversary “Kids’ Talents for Jesus “ celebration event. In spite of the pandemic, we received around 300 entries in art, poetry, and media production from every division and attached union/field. A big thank you to all the directors who promoted the event passionately in getting children to demonstrate their gifts and talents God has given them. The results are published in our anniversary commemorative book and copies are being sent to each division for the children’s leaders as well as for all children who participated in this event.

All the media produced will be uploaded onto our YouTube Channel.

“HOPE KIDS”

Hope Channel International (HCI) is launching their new Hope Kids (HK). HK is a YouTube channel geared toward children where videos from HCI, Hope Media, Hope network channels and GC is aggregated and shared. This platform will provide children with a variety of programs from various entities worldwide.

COME, YE CHILDREN, HEARKEN UNTO ME: I WILL

TEACH YOU THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

Friendships come and go and as a children’s minister you can help kids have positive experiences, learn to grow in their friendships, and learn to value their friends. Here are tips you can use:

1. Bait and Switch – give plenty of opportunities for kids to talk together with a partner or in a trio. And have kids switch every so often so they’re exposed to more than the same group of kids each time.

2. Force it – Make “friendship appreciation” a regular part of your class time. In each class, incorporate activities such as having kids each say something nice about the child sitting next to them. This will build rapport between kids and individual self-esteem.

3. Honor the Rule – Use scripture that depicts friendships and their importance in your lessons. Point out the significance of friendship in these verses. And teach kids the Golden Rule.

4. Hire Ambassadors – Make your class a “friends-first” class. This means that any visitors have an automatic partner (a volunteer ambassador) and that kids who miss class are prayed for and sent a “missed you” card.

5. Talk About It – Most kids love to talk, so tap into this propensity by giving them a chance to talk about why friendship is important and how we should treat our friends.

6. Worth fighting for – conflicts are inevitable. How you guide kids to handle their conflicts will determine whether they learn to treat one another with

respect and kindness or with contempt. Make your conflict-resolution policy clear.

By emphasizing that friendships are important and that everyone belongs, you’ll help kids build the foundations for strong friendships in the years to come.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

4 SMALL WAYS TO BUILD

Confidence in KidsAccording to Childmind Institute, “Self-confidence originates from a perception of competence or how children develop confidence not because family and friends praise them, but because of their own accomplishments”.

Each child is different and there are some helpful guidelines that build your kids’ confidence.

Remind children daily that they are blessed and a beloved child of God. Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

AND SAID, ‘TRULY I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS YOU ARE CONVERTED AND BECOME LIKE CHILDREN, YOU WILL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.’

(MATTHEW 18:3, NKJV)

MAKE TIME FOR PLAY

Playtime is one of the best

investments you can make in your child. Spending

hours of playtime shows children that they are

valuable and worth your time.

PROVIDE THEM WITH SMALL JOBS

Children need opportunities to display

their skills and feel that their contribution is valued. Some help

with household chores such as setting the

table, tidying up toys, dusting, sweeping,

vacuuming, doing the dishes, etc. When a child

accomplishes a task, they feel confident.

GIVE THEM YOUR ATTENTION

Make eye contact so it’s clear that you’re really listening to

what they’re saying, if your child needs to talk, stop and listen to

what they have to say. They need to know their thoughts, feelings, and opinions matter. Help them

get comfortable with their emotions by accepting them

without judgement which helps to validate those feelings and show that you value what they

have to say.

PROVIDE ENCOURAGEMENT

OFTENThere’s a big

difference between encouragement and praise. One rewards the person while the

other rewards the task. Give your child the

message that the effort and seeing something through to the end it

what’s truly important.
