Dear Parishioners,
I have already met many of you in the prior weeks in which I have been living and ministering in Thomas-
ville/Cairo. I have enjoyed my time here immensely, and I am grateful for all of the authentic Christian hospitality
that has been shown to me already. However, I wanted a chance to properly introduce myself to the whole commu-
nity, and to give you a brief snapshot of my background, the man behind the collar so to speak.
I was born and raised about five hours northeast of Thomasville in the fairly large town of Augusta, GA. I
come from a small family, having only one sibling, an older brother. My mother, a college professor, and my father,
an aviation instructor, are both devout Catholics and so the Faith has always been a focus in our house. As a result, I
attended St. Mary on the Hill Catholic School, and the associated parish, from kindergarten through eighth grade.
(This was also nice because my mother taught there.) It was here around the sixth grade that I began feeling a call to
the priesthood. At the time it was not clear and definite, but I knew that God was wanting something different from
me that He wasn’t asking from my fellow classmates. After my time there was complete, I switched to my current
home parish of St. Theresa of Avila in Grovetown and began attending Aquinas High School. During my Freshman
year my vocation began to solidify as I was able grow in knowledge of my beliefs and was blessed with meeting sever-
al priests who challenged me to more closely discern God’s call. I had previously gotten in touch with the Vocations
Director, Fr. Pablo Migone, and he had told me that I needed at least two years of college experience before I could
apply for seminary. And so, four years later, I graduated in 2016 with my goal in sight.
That fall, I began my college career at the seemingly ever-expanding Augusta University. I knew that I would
be studying philosophy in seminary so I figured it would be a good idea to get a head start. I soon found myself on
the university’s ethics debate team and in classes discussing the works of people like Aristotle and Immanuel Kant
and with topics ranging from the environmental impact of capitalism to classifying personhood. After pushing
through what seemed like decades, my time to apply for seminary had finally arrived.
In May of last year, I finished the application process and was accepted by the diocese as a bona fide semi-
narian. That August I began my studies at St. Joseph’s College Seminary in St. Benedict, Louisiana (about an hour
north of New Orleans). It is the largest college seminary in the country and is also run by the longest reigning rector
in the country, a blind Benedictine monk. My time there this past year has been full of blessings beyond count and
has given me the opportunity to learn and grow in so many ways so that I can better serve you, the people of God.
This upcoming fall, I plan on returning to St. Joseph’s for my final year before graduating with my bachelor’s degree
and moving on to four more years of study and prayer in a major seminary.
Please continue to pray for me and my brother seminarians as well as for an increase in vocations. Without
priests, we can have no Eucharist. Without the Eucharist, we can have no Church. May God richly bless you and I
look forward to serving you now and in the future!
In the peace of Christ,
Sem. Noah Pace

It's normal to grieve a pregnancy loss, including the loss of a child by abortion. It can form a hole in one's heart so deep that sometimes it seems nothing can fill the emptiness.
