All the shipments to/from Myanmar have to transit in either Singapore or Port

Kelang as there is no MLO calling to Myanmar Port up to now.

Most MLO operating in Myanmar have own slots agreement with feeder

carriers for RGN-SIN(VV), RGN-PKG(VV).

For the time being, due to trade sanction to Myanmar from US, there are no

shipments to US since 2003 until now.

Currently, most of the shipments exit Myanmar are by sea.

Urgent cargoes, perishable cargoes and small volume cargoes

are moving out by air.

Road & Rail Logistics is still to be developed.

Currently, Myanmar Government is upgrading and improving

infrastructure for Logistics Sector.

• According to the MOUs and agreements of the deep

seaport projects, Special Economic Zones (SEZ)

development will be lunched in these areas.

• Manufacturing industries will also be developed.

• Transits transport will be more popular in future.

• Logistics industries have to be prepared to meet the

needs future demand.

After parliamentary election on 1st April 2012, US and EU

have eased the sanctions on some sectors. Therefore, focus

trade between Myanmar and US & EU to increase in

upcoming months.

Investors are showing interest on Myanmar and trade

delegations are coming to Myanmar to invest in various

sectors of businesses.

In near future, logistics industry will also develop rapidly.

We still do not have electronic Single Window, coordinating the Customs needs of all Ministries but Customs is developing his own house software with one of the local Software Engineering company. Asycuda is very very expensive to install for Customs.

Customs Declaration Documents are based on the UNTAD Key layout and combined with local requirement.

Still Customs Valuation base on the old version of Sea Customs Acts “ Real Value “ , however simultaneously refer to the “ Transactional Value” of GATT. Studying to apply on GATT Valuation Method and will implement in the near future.

Customs is using the WCO Harmonized System Coding and inline with ASEAN HS coding.
