Greetings Brethren: The month of September started with a bang. On September 7, I, along with several members of St Johns Lodge, attended the Rhode Island DeMolay Conclave. Gaspee Chapter, the Chapter we sponsor, was selected as Chapter of the Year and Worshipful Ed Bertrand was chosen as Advisor of The Year! Congratulations to Dad Michael Lawson for a great event. The following day three of our members, Brothers M.W. Dennis W. Pothier, M.W. Steven E. Smith and R.W. Ronald P. Reed, were inducted into the Legion of Honor. Additionally, in August, R.W. Reed and M.W. Richard L. Ault were selected to receive the 33rd degree, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, in Milwaukee in 2019. The highlight of our September communication was a presentation by Brother Josh Irizarry from the Collegium Lvminosvm (and our very own Senior Deacon) entitled “Was Confucius a Freemason”. The presentation was well received by the brethren. Congratulations to Brother Irizarry. I would like to thank Chancellor Michael Southern for the opportunity to host a speaker from the Collegium. We finished a great night by inviting M.W. Peter Iacobucci to close the Lodge. We will be conducting the Entered Apprentice degree on five candidates in October. The Lodge will open at 5:30 pm.Please take note that our November Communication has been moved from November 21st to November 14th so you can attend Lodge and still have time with your families on Thanksgiving.
