This contest is open to all full-time undergraduate engineering students who are enrolled in any PATE- member school during academic year 2013-2014 and the first term of academic year 2014-2015. Entries can be any engineering design in any engineering field. A prototype or proof of design is required. The top five entries from the country will be selected to compete in the National Championship in September 2014. The criteria for judging are as follows: a. Technical Feasibility of the Design 20% b. Utility of the Design and its Novelty 30% c. Significance of the Work 20% d. Writing Clarity and Style of the Project Report 10% e. Reliability of Design 20% All faculty advisers must be included as authors, but only students will be allowed to present the project. A school can enter a maximum of two entries. All entries previously submitted in any national contest are ineligible to participate. All participants must submit a design project report and a 5-10 minute video presentation discussing the proof of design or demonstrating how the prototype works. The video presentation must be uploaded in YouTube (www.youtube.com). The YouTube link address must be clearly declared in the application form. The design project report should include the following parts: a. Title Page, which includes Title of the Design, Proponents, and School Affiliation b. Abstract/ Executive Summary c. Introduction d. Design Methodology e. Photos of Prototype/ Proof of Design f. Results (of Simulations/Laboratory Tests) g. Discussion/ Analysis h. Conclusion i. Appendix (Optional) Please email the following to [email protected] on or before August 31, 2014: a. Application Form b.
