Gold Eye: Gold Eye is one of the main characters of the book. His name is derived from the color of his eye. It is gold because he was born when the Change started. He has the power of seeing into the future.

Ninde: She is another one of the main characters. She is sort of childish and tries to forget about how bad things were by watching movies that came from the “old days”. She has the power of reading minds.

Drum: He is another one of the main characters. He is extremely big for his age because before he was saved from the Dorms by Shade, he was given steroids so he could be a Myrmidon (a creature made by the Overlord. They are the second most powerful of the bad guys) His talent is telekinesis (moving objects with his mind)

Overlords: They are sort of humans but from a different dimension. They refer to other humans as “animals”. They were the masterminds of the Change. They captured children, put them in “dorms” and when a child turned fourteen, they cut him/her into pieces and use the body parts and the brain for their horrible creatures.
