Assumption Regional Catholic School

Dear Friends,

Peace and all good! For this 3rd Sunday of Lent, Jesus engages a Samaritan woman in conversation. The disciples were amazed that Jesus was speaking with her because she was a woman, and she was a Samaritan. Yet, Jesus chose this woman to share the great news of his living water. The Samaritan woman is changed as a result. She comes to believe that Jesus is the Messiah! As we continue to move through this Lenten season, let us take the time to look inside the well of faith within us. How deep is our well? Do we thirst for a deeper relationship with Jesus? Jesus is our life-giving water. Let’s not be afraid to share the Good News with others! We are excited to announce our Let Your Light Shine Virtue ~ Integrity ~ recipients for February: PreK 3: Lorenzo Catalioti, Colbi Person, and Joseph Searle; PreK 4A: Tadeo Fortune and Vincenza King; PreK 4B: Evan Flynn and Janelle Tresvalles; KA: Grayson Leon-D’Agostino and Rhea Panwala; KB: Shanaya Desai; Grade 1A: Derek Brown and Olivia Tunis; Grade 1B: Milania Milev and Jaedyn Shestko; Grade 2A: Lillian DePietro and Nolan Smith; Grade 2B: Willow Baake and Joseph Schettino; Grade 3A: Gabriella Cressey and Xavier Meade; Grade 3B: John Campolo and Pavan Patel; Grade 4A: Isabella Blum, Adrianna Ruark, and Finleigh Whoy; Grade 4B: Aiden Clermont, Danielle Jordan, and Michael Pinto; Grade 5A: Vaughn Amalfitano, Katya Chyzhyk and Briana Tejeda; Grade 5B: Gabrielle Butler, Aiden Cortes, and Frank Mannarino; Grade 6: Tyler Batt, Laura Caffrey, Andre Stewart, and Avery Wainwright; Grade 7: Gwen Amalfitano, Christopher Barone, Maureen Brown, Myles Elefante, and Jazlyn Vargas; Grade 8: Natalie Brown, Sanaa Cherry, Emerald Nieves, Jackie Orecchia, and Sarina Pollino. Congratulations to these students. We are grateful for their lives of integrity! 6th Grader, Joey Bolger, and 7th Grader, Myles Elefante will be participating in the Stockton University Science Fair on Saturday, March 21. We wish them the best of luck as they defend their projects! Many thanks are extended to Mrs. Naples for working with them! Three of our 6th Graders submitted a science project to eCYBERMISSION, a web-based science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) competition for students in grades six through nine. Inspired by the field of solar panels that are producing electricity for Assumption Regional Catholic School, Team Solar Squad (Tyler Batt, John Kane, and Justin Yon) wanted to know if there were any other ways that solar energy could be used to reduce our need for fossil fuels. We wish them the best of luck in this competition. Many thanks are extended to Mrs. Naples for working with Team Solar Squad! Our registration for next year continues. If you, or someone that you know, would like a tour of our school or perhaps have a child “shadow” for the day, we would be very glad to meet with you. Please contact our advancement director, Cathryn Flammer ([email protected]) and inquire about our “Transfer Grant” that is available for students in Grades One through Seven. We also offer tuition assistance for those with demonstrated need. All are invited to attend Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 20 at 1:30 PM. Our 4th Graders will be leading us. We are excited about our first “Lenten Pizza and Pasta” night on Friday, March 20 from 4:30 – 7:30 at the school. Take-out and dine-in will be available! Please plan to join us! Thank you for the many ways that you support the Mission of Catholic education at ARCS. We are most grateful! Lenten blessings,

B. Joan Dollinger
