The Hunar FoundationWorking Towards a Skilled Pakistan
This August 17th, 2014 the first alumni association get-together tookplace at the DMS Technical Institute in Karachi, where THF alumni wereinvited for a fun afternoon. The event began with THF Directors andCEO addressing the students and sharing their experiences with thealumni followed by an entertainment session where local artistsperformed popular numbers and concluded with lunch. The idea wasto reward the graduates and provide them grounding where they canstreamline themselves for industry related jobs. Alumni feedback was also taken on ways to improve THF curriculumand placement. At the end of the event alumni were handed over the souvenirs.
Demise of THF’s patrons, Mr. Munir Ahmed Ansari & Mr. Imran Mir
With the deaths of Mr. Munir Ahmed Ansari and Mr. Imran Mir, THF has lost two founder pillars, in October ’14.
Mr. Munir Ahmed Ansari, who has helped lay the foundation stones for THF, has been THF’s TechnicalAdvisor since its inception. He has set up all the workshops and established the training programmesat THF. Mr. Imran Mir designed the THF logo, both him and his wife Mrs. Nighat Mir, have been ardentsupporters from the organisation’s commencement and mentors for all of THF’s awareness campaigns.
Their contribution through their work and guidance to help bring a positive change in Pakistan has been colossal. We pray that Allah accepts and multiplies their good deeds and grants them thehighest of ranks in the hereafter.
On 12th September, 2014 INSEAD Alumni Association Pakistan initiateda charity cricket match between the London Business School Alumniand the INSEAD NAA cricket team at The Moin Khan Academy. Theoccasion was sponsored by SAMAA TV where The Hunar Foundationwas the official charity partner. THF’s CEO, Mr. Javed Hassan was thecaptain of the LBS Team. The purpose was to have a reunion ofbusiness schools and increase their awareness of THF’s work.

Farouq Ahmed & Aftab Shamsi Technical Institute (FAASTI), Bedian Road, LahoreWe are happy to announce that as of August 2014, training for the the firstbatch of students commenced at FAAS Technical Institute. Vocations cur-rently offered include Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Installation, Fabrication& Welding and Plumbing. Once complete and fully operational, the institutewill have the capacity to accommodate up to 1000 students per year.
Najam Vocational Institute for Women, Delhi Colony,KarachiAdmissions are in full swing at the THF first women’s institute. The instituteis offering three trades in the first stage which include Beauty Therapy,Haircutting Techniques and Hair Colouring Techniques and will be addingmore trades in the coming months.
Training Program conducted by INJAZ Pakistan Training program was conducted by INJAZ Pakistan at DMS TechnicalInstitute Karachi and HAK Technical Institute Tando Allahyar in August2014. Participating trainees were awarded with certificates at the end ofthe training session. INJAZ Pakistan’s experts covered the following topicsduring the session: Head Start, Personal Economics and Career Success.
