Meet Becky McFarlane

A New Year at The Fountains

Becky was introduced to the Fountains of Franklin through our residents, Bill and Virginia Fennessey’s daughter, Valerie Hansen. We are very fortunate to have Becky working in our kitchen creating her special dishes for our enjoyment. Becky is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Her family moved to Bolinas, California where her dad pursued his graphic design career as the Art Director of Rolling Stones Magazine. The magazine moved her family to New York City, and then later he and the family moved to Nashville, where he worked as an album cover designer for CBS Records. As a young adult, Becky decided to follow in her dad’s footsteps and pursued a graphic design career. During that phase of her life, she designed for Jack Daniels, Lenox china, Korbel, and Bols. But, once computers became a part of the design business, she began looking for a different career path. This new path led her to the Nashville restaurant Mad Platters. She started as “salad girl,” then “grill girl,” “sautée girl” and eventually, she served as Manager. She expanded her

cooking creativity by opening and owning her own restaurant, “Yellow Duck,” in Fairview, Tennessee. She received positive publicity in the Tennessean, Nashville Scene and the Bellevue paper. Becky, married, has a 17 year old daughter, Dakota, who just graduated from high school a year early and is considering attending MTSU. Becky’s creativity still leads her to a love of art through forming clay sculptures and many other art projects. She also adores her 10 cats and considers them to be a part of her family. Becky is so glad to be a part of the Fountains’ ‘family’ and is thankful for how the residents warm her heart.
