DYNAMICS LAB
CAM ANALYSIS APPARATUS
The machine facilitates the study of dynamic behavior of cam follower. It consists of a DC Motor coupled to an extension shaft whose and carries a cam. A cam follower, mounted on the end of a vertical bar, is loaded on the cam face by compression spring is retained by a cross bar mounted on two vertical pillars attached to the base plate. 03. WATT/PORTER GOVERNOR APPARATUS
The set up consists of a D.C. motor mounted vertically on a rigid base plate. The governor spindle also mounted vertically on same base plate with ball bearings, so it is to rotate freely .the spindle is driven by motor with belt and pulley system. The governor mechanism can be mounted on the spindle. Digital rpm indicator provided on the control panel to measure the speed of the spindle. The graduated scale is mounted to measure lift of the
mechanisms. The governor speed is increased in steps to give suitable sleeve movement. The readings are repeated at each stage, the can be plotted as curves of speed against sleeve position. 03a. PROELL AND HARTNELL GOVERNOR APPARATUS
The set up consists of a D.C. motor mounted vertically on a rigid base plate. The governor spindle also mounted vertically on same base plate with ball bearings, so it is to rotate freely .the spindle is driven by motor with belt and pulley system. The governor mechanism can be mounted on the spindle. Digital rpm indicator provided on the control panel to measure the speed of the spindle. The graduated scale is mounted to measure lift of the mechanisms. The governor speed is increased in steps to give suitable sleeve movement. The readings are repeated at each stage, the can be plotted as curves of speed against sleeve position. 04. WHIRLING OF SHAFT APPARATUS
This compact and simple apparatus incorporates two features. Firstly, kinematics coupling at the driven and of the shaft to slide freely in longitudinal direction while revolving readily. An interchangeable chuck without self-aligning radial ball bearing achieves the directional clamping of this end of the shaft. The shaft is driven through a dynamically balanced flexible coupling by a universal motor, the speed of which can be controlled by a control unit. The speed of rotation of the shaft can be measured by a stroboscope (not in scope of supply). Digital rpm indicator can be also used for speed measurement of coupling. The following shafts made from steel will be supplied.
