Panorama above was built from

The above IR Panorama was made from 30 320 x 240 Thermograms

The composite Thermogram is 1586 Pixels Wide

The Effective Lens is 97 degrees although the real lens was 23 degrees

With the physical lens the building couldn’t be imaged in one picture as another building prevented backing up far enough to get the entire image.

San Francisco Earthquake Panorama 1906

Before computers panorama’s required a special adapter for a tripod so that the camera would rotate at its nodal point. Rotating (roll, pitch yaw) at the nodal point makes for great panoramas.

With the computer things are MUCH easier. The IR pictures of the school were taken with a handheld camera. Moving the camera in X, Y, or Z causes some parallax. The computer handles a lot of that well. A tripod is useful but a Panohead isn’t needed except for great works of art.
