Has anyone ever heard this phrase: “there’s more going on here than meets the eye”?
I’ve heard it. It usually makes me look around the room to see if a magician has
sneaked in. It’s a phrase I think applies to us during these days of quarantine and social
distancing. The C3 family is not merely treading water while enduring a pandemic; we
are learning and growing the church in new ways while we wait for the day when we
can gather together again in our building. Check out these lessons we’re learning!
People are discovering their neighbors in street meetings (socially distanced,
of course).
People are using technology platforms, the designers of which likely never imagined
would be so filled with bible lessons and zoom fellowship of the followers of Jesus.
Visitors are finding C3’s worship services online and are becoming regular attenders of
our Sunday gatherings while quarantined in their homes.
Parents are taking the lead roles in their kid’s spiritual development in increasing
numbers.
Kids are inviting their friends to tune into bible studies and lessons produced by our
kid’s and student ministers; and lives are continuing to be changed as result!
Even though our Seniors are missing each other, they are staying connected to each
other and their C3 family through phone calls! Some are even learning “advanced”
technical skills like using FaceTime and Skype!
Donations to our Samaritan Room ministry are greater than ever; and the Oak Hill
community is being cared for in a wonderful way by the C3 family through this
ministry outreach.
The C3 staff is proving to be creative, innovative and enthusiastic as they have
quickly adapted to new methods of delivering ministry to the communities in and
surrounding Converse.
THE CHURCH, the kingdom of God is growing and thriving, as it always does, when asked
to find new methods of operation and extension. Whether by discovering
new ways to stick together meeting in catacombs in the 1st century,
or by singing praise songs in the streets of the 21st; nothing can stop the church
from being the church! Not even the gates of hell can prevail against it!
There’s more going on at C3 than meets the eye!
Upward and Onward!
John
