SELECTION, DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
A. SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
There are some principles that we must hold in choosing teaching materials:
1. the content of teaching materials ought to correspond to the learning objectives
2. teaching materials ought to fit the needs of the students3. teaching materials ought really good in presenting
factual4. teaching materials ought to really describe the
background and the atmosphere lived by students5. teaching materials ought to easy and economical use6. teaching materials ought to match the learning styles of
students7. the environment in which teaching materials used must
be appropriate to the type of media used
A. SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The steps that can be taken to select teaching materials to suit the needs of learning involve five basic steps:
1. Set goals for what we want to use the teaching materials.
2. Learn the areas of teaching materials that we need3. Make the details of the type we are looking for
teaching materials4. Determine if teaching materials will be used to
motivate students to want to learn5. Select the appropriate form of teaching materials
A. SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
1. Selection of Print Instructional Materials
a. We must consider the information contained in it
b. Do not let us choose teaching materials that contained less material in accordance with the material that should be a matter of students in achieving competence

2. Selection of Model or Maket Instructional Materials
a. Models or mockups have relevance to the material that will be taught.
b. Models or mockups have a size that is not too big and it's also not too heavy, so it can be moved by one person.
c. Mathematical models adjusted for scale.d. Models or mockups can be obtained at the store
and can be seen also in the learning resource, such as a museum or library

5. Interactive Selection of Instructional Materials
The substance of the material presented in the interactive program must have relevance to the competencies that must be mastered by the student.
Interactive program presented can be accounted for righteousness.

B. DESIGN OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
Atwi Suparman (1993) model of teaching materials that consists of several components, as follows:
1. Subject Overview2. Chapter (repeated for the next
chapter)3. Bibliography4. Glossary / list
C. PREPARATION PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
1. Understanding content standards and competency standards, syllabi, program semester, and plan the implementation of learning
2. Identify the type of learning material based on an understanding of the points (1)
3. Undergo a material mapping4. Set the form of presentation5. Arrange structure (skeleton) presentation6. Read a book sources7. Drafting (blurred) teaching materials8. Revise (edit) teaching materials9. Trialling teaching materials10. Revise and write end (finalization)
