Iphone 6 to launch in august with

bigger model to follow Reporters: David & Gabriel

APPLE’S much-anticipated iPhone 6 will be with

us earlier than expected, according to the

latest reports from the company’s supply chain.

A 4.7-inch version of the phone will be launched

in August, says the

Economic Daily News. The newspaper, which is

based in Taiwan, bases its report on leaked

information from two companies that

manufacture parts for the iPhone and the

smartphone within it.

General Motors Announces New Recall of 8.4 Million Cars Worldwide

Reporter: Salomon

General Motors announced six new recalls on Monday

affecting 7.6 million vehicles in North America and 800,000

more overseas. Among the recalled vehicles, GM is aware of

seven crashes, eight injuries and three fatalities in older model

full-size sedans being recalled for inadvertent ignition key

rotation. General Motors has posted three dozen recalls this

year for all manner of issues, affecting 20 million vehicles

worldwide.

Santo’s Government

Reporters: Mateo & Nicolas

During the installation of the regular sessions

of the Congress, President Juan Manuel Santos

raised which will be the most important bills

during his second term. Among the initiatives

that the Government will lead are reforming

the balance of power, which will be submitted

for consideration of the political parties and

movements, and the restoration of the

principles of checks and balances, through the elimination of presidential

reelection, and extending the period of president between 5 and 6 years,

standard not benefit you.

THE COMICS HISTORY Reporters: Santiago & Samuel Rene

The history of comics has followed different paths in

different parts of the world. It can be traced back to

early precursors such as Trajan's Column, in Rome,

Egyptian hieroglyphs and the Bayeux Tapestry.

An example of an early precursor to print comics is

Trajan's Column. Rome's Trajan's Column,

dedicated in 113 AD, is an early surviving example

of a narrative told through sequential pictures, while Egyptian hieroglyphs,

Greek friezes, medieval tapestries such as the Bayeux Tapestry and

illustrated manuscripts also combine sequential images and words to tell a

story. Versions of the Bible relying primarily on images rather than text were

widely distributed in Europe in order to bring the teachings of Christianity to

the illiterate. In medieval paintings, many sequential scenes of the same story

(usually a Biblical one) appear simultaneously in the same painting (see

illustration to right).

However, these works did not travel to the reader; it took the invention of

modern printing techniques to bring the form to a wide audience and become

a mass medium.

Happy Birthday Prince George!

Reporter: Valeria

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Prince George

Alexander Louis of

Cambridge! It

doesn't seem like 12

months ago that

the third in line to the

throne made his first

appearance before the

world's media who were

anxiously camped outside

the Lindo Wing of St

Mary's Hospital in

London's Paddington.

While he's too young to

have been out and about

much, we have seen him

take a three-week tour of

Australia and New

Zealand, attend polo

matches and make a trip to

the Natural History

Museum.

El Niño: A Global Weather Phenomenon

Reporters: Juan Diego & Andrés

In the context of climate and weather, the

name El Niño originally referred to the

warm ocean current that appears along the

pacific coast of South America each year

around Christmas. In Spanish, El Niño means "the boy", a

reference to the Christ child, since historically the

phenomenon has been observed near Christmas. Recently

however, the term has been applied to those years when

there is a change in this annual pattern.

THE TRANSFORMERS Reporters: Juan Miguel & Alejandro

More than any other of the many

media which

Transformers have invaded in the past 30 years, it is The Transformers, the original cartoon that ran from 1984 to 1987, which captured the imagination of children and the young-at-heart worldwide.

The cartoon (along with the Marvel comics) set up the basic story of Transformers that most other incarnations were to follow: two warring factions of robots on the planet Cybertron leave in search of resources. The factions crash-land on Earth and, millions of years later, begin their battle anew in Reagan-era America and across the globe.
