2. Theoretical Framework 2.1 - Introduction In this chapter, we as proponents discuss the different theories and or concepts that would help us through the development of the system. This theoretical framework will provide a background into Online Ordering concepts, which will help to explain some of the processes of the theories that we should divulge; and the definitions of I.T Concepts and Non-I.T Concepts. 2.2 - IT-Related Concepts All I.T theories and concepts used by the proponents in creating the system are discussed in this section Web Application -“Although the World- Wide Web was initially conceived as a vehicle for delivering documents, it is now being used as a platform for sophisticated interactive applications, displacing the traditional mechanism of installable binaries. Web-based applications offer numerous advantages, such as instant access, automatic upgrades, and opportunities for collaboration on a massive scale. However, creating Web applications requires different approaches than traditional applications and involves the integration of numerous technologies. This class will introduce you to the Web technologies and give you experience creating Web applications. In the process you will learn about markup languages, scripting languages, network protocols, interactive graphics, event-driven programming, and databases, and see how they all work together to deliver exciting applications.” Online Ordering System with Billing for Pulp Live World Productions Inc. 2-1

Source: http://openclassroom.stanford.edu/MainFolder/CoursePage.php?course=WebAppl ications -Web Application is the important thing for the proponents to use in this system study. Web applications typically use a database to store permanent information such as product descriptions and costs, and customer orders. Database Schema -“Short for relational database management system and pronounced as separate letters, a type of database management system (DBMS) that storesdata in the form of related tables. Relational databases are powerful because they require few assumptions about how data is related or how it will be extracted from the database. As a result, the same database can be viewed in many different ways.” Source: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/R/RDBMS.html -Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) supports the proponents with knowledge on how we manage the database, because RDBMS has a simple view of the database that conforms to much of the data used in businesses. Networking -“In the world of computers, networking is the practice of linking two or more computing devices together for the purpose of sharing data. Networks are built with a mix of computer hardware and computer software.” Source: http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/basicnetworking/f/whatsnetworking.html

-The proponents used the networking in the purpose of the requirements of the system. It is very easy to communicate through a network. People can communicate efficiently using a network with a group of people. They can enjoy the benefit of emails, instant messaging, telephony, video conferencing, chat rooms, etc. 2.3 - Non IT-Related Concepts Requisition Form -Requisition Form is a request form of product that incluudes suggested product to be replenished. Submitting a requisition form means that the product included in the list are critical level or out of stock. Economic Order Quantity -This is the process of defining the best suggested order quantity of the product, based on its movement in the market. This concept has been applied to eliminate the problem in most inventory systems, which is the overstocking and understocking. Because of these concepts defining the required quantity was made possible. 2.4 Summary The developed system is composed of various processes and procedures, thus, the proponents have considered different theories and concepts in order to make it more defined and precise.
