previously known as young, innocent Hannah Montana and this video shows a great contrast and shows how she has grown up. The shots where Miley is wearing sunglasses

emphasise her star image and success, and her style such as the tight fitting, skimpy costumes may be inspiring to her

fans.

synergy. This is present in the video as ‘beats’ speakers are advertised at the beginning and ‘eos’ lip balm is later on.

Showing a popular artist using these products is great advertisement for the companies, and they will advertise

Miley’s music in return.

is shown beautifying herself, shows typical teenage girl behaviour and this allows her to appear as ordinary, but other aspects of the video show her as an extraordinary character such as dancing with the huge teddy bears or

carrying the stuffed animals.

The video supports his theory of people devoting their time and care on media and social medias through the shot of Miley ‘twerking’ as this has recently become an internet

craze through videos on social networks and YouTube, and as this is represented in the video, it shows that people will

understand it as they worry about media more than real issues.
