THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL TRAINING COURSE. 8 HOURS. “Study of inland and coastal water quality using remote sensing data from Copernicus European program” Objective: To know the applications of the Earth observation techniques based on European satellites data, for the study of the ecological status of the inland and coastal water bodies. Audience: Limnologists and water managers, Master’s students, PhDs and professionals. Methodology: Research staff from University of Valencia will teach the theoretical and practical lessons. They have a wide experience in remote sensing and limnology. Prof. Dr Jesús Delegido from the Department of Earth Physics and Thermodynamics, is the responsible investigator. Computers will be available for each student for the practical exercises. Lessons will be offered in Spanish. Program: Theoretical background on Remote sensing physic. Copernicus program. Image downloading. SNAP toolbox. Sentinel-2 image proccesing with SNAP. Retrieval of biophysical water parameters. Inland and coastal water quality with Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3.
