Digital Technology This is the type of equipment used that is used to help produce videos whilst they’re being

created. Its extremely important in terms of helping you create the video allowing the process to

become much more simpler to use. Digital technology has grossed in both software and hardware in modern day society for music videos for our own use and entertainment.

It is used in various features of media as well as the film production. Around this time last year I was able to learn and experience how it is to film and the process

of making the video. This experience was extremely interesting and I learned valuable skills about improving the

quality of my video. During last year I used both hardware and software to transport files using a range of technical

devices which I used to help my partner and I help create our end product.

Software The software I used was: Blogger Youtube Microsoft Powerpoint Slideshare Prezi Google: Research Adobe After effects CS6 Premiere: Adobe After effects CS6: Mocha To advertise my media product I used the following software: Facebook Twitter Whatsapp

All the devices that I have listed was all from last year that I had used to create

my media production. This year my knowledge is more advanced now and has

Developed from last year.

Devices Computer: This was significant and a great advantage to help me research,

plan, edit, blog, create presentations, to transport files from my iPhone to the computer and other uses to help me with my thriller. The computer I used to conduct this research was an iMac.

I was able to explore different themes and ideas for my thriller. Such as the codes and conventions of thrillers, the film theories, and other things. This was from using the software's Google and Safari.

In addition I explored a range of styles of fonts to use for the opening of my thriller production, using a site called dafont which gave me ideas of the type of fonts I could use.

My partner and I observed the genre of thriller watching various videos and films that were related to our media product. The types of thriller we covered were psychological thriller, supernatural thriller, action-adventure thriller and other types of thriller. To gather ideas I watched thrillers that covered all of the genres from the ones I listed above such as What Lies Beneath, Silence of The Lambs, and other films.

All of the research, film devices and editing software I used the computer. The main software I used on the computer was Adobe after effects CS6.

Other software I used were Mocha for tracking and Adobe after effects CS6 Premiere was for visual effects.

Camera This piece of hardware I had used to film footage of my media production

on. The camera my partner Fortune and I used was the Pentax kx dslr. This played an important role with a film as it had terrific features such as good quality, clear focus, extended lenses and other useful functions. Without these features it would have been extremely difficult to create the opening sequence.

The original footage I used my iPhone to film the scenes. The phone was clear but wasn’t good enough to film however it was useful when taking pictures as it was simple, portable and quick to use, but still not as great as the pentax.

The phone had its other uses as well as filming and taking pictures I also used it for communication purposes to contact my partner and others that were apart of our product. For example filming schedule, editing, storyboarding together, etc.

Social Media Social media was another significant part in my course as I was able to

select our target audience and evaluate what type of thriller genre people would go for also it helped us get back feedback for our end product. This allowed us to improve it.

YouTube: I used this site to exhibit my final production on, so the public can view it and give us feedback of what they thought about it. I was able to distribute it as well as exhibiting the video.

Facebook: This site I exhibited my video on as well, so I could ask my friends and family for their opinion on it. Majority of the comments where good on the other there were a few bad comments but it wasn’t too bad, just stuff that I would have to adjust. I was able to gain knowledge of what my audience wanted and what they thought about the production.

Twitter: This is another site that used to post my video on to receive feedback from my audience.

BlogSpot: I used this provide the public with my media product. This was extremely useful in terms of presenting the different stages of the film process and used a range of terminology to explain the whole process. I was able to post my work from Slideshare and Prezi

Prezi & Slideshare: I used this software to present my coursework on to my blog. I used it to present it in a colourful way as it is entertaining to read and readers will be more obliged to read it.

Creativity Creativity is what people do to produce a plan for their product. This is

the finest type of your product as you’re able to use your own imagination and creative skills to explore a range of ideas to create your own exclusive production.

On the other hand last year as it was my first time ever using software and storyboards like this I had to be creative and illustrate my creativeness in to a range of ideas.

Storyboarding: This is where I expressed my ideas to illustrate what I had in plan for my opening sequence. The storyboard is a guide to help us throughout the process of filming our production. This had to be quite detailed as my partner and I had to apply this to the film and had to sketch out what it would be like. For example we had to include the camera angles and shots we were going to use also the composition and transition.

Relationship between Digital technology and Creativity

Digital technology was a great advantage for me as it allowed me to use my imagination and be creative. These two things were extremely good in order to produce the opening sequence of my thriller.
