Theme

MATERA is a unique place, was the first site in Southern Italy to be named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. The cultural landscape defines an extraordinary city, remembered with the acronym of "Città dei Sassi" or "Città Sotterranea" for the presence of most old rural population in the world.
In this context of ancient athmosfere we want to imagine the new Museum of Culture, a container of
traditions able to better enhance the historical elements that make up the identity of the city. Exhibition
rooms of local crafts and laboratory for artistic workshops will connect visitors and the population to create
new synergies. The Museum for Matera will combine the tradition of the past and contemporary instances.
Participation
There is no limit for the competition. Everybody wants to deal with the theme proposed is allowed to the
contest, whatever their country of origin. There are no age limits, graduate students, graduates or
professionals can enroll . You can participate as an individual or as a group. In the second case it is
necessary to elect a leader to have a contact person to which official communications. Each participant may
submit only one project and not be part of more than one group. Groups can be mixed or use more
professional, they may be made simultaneously by graduate and undergraduate students.
Registration
Application is open until the last day of the delivery processed 30th of April 2018.
The application procedures are:
SPECIAL ENTRY: from 15th of January – 25nd of February the fee entry is of 30,00 euros for team (regardless of the number of competitors) and 20,00 euros if the participant is unique.
ORDINARY ENTRY: from 26th of February - 30th of April the fee entry is of 40,00 euros for team (regardless of the number of competitors) and 25,00 euros if the participant is unique.
The methods of payment are the following:

-Bank Transfer: For those wishing to pay by bank transfer can write to the email [email protected] and ask specific information about the bank.
The fees are for each participant. There are no refunds in any circumstances. Sending the registration fee you accept every point of this regulation.

The official languages of the competition are: English, Italian, Spanish.
Specify of participation
Following the payment, we must send the payment receipt and the Form A to email [email protected]. Only after this procedure it will be sent you some area photos (no high-resolution images because it shouldn’t uses for rendering) and reference dwg file.
Functional space:
Foyer: 50 sqm– Coffee space: 50-70 sqm - 2 Exhibition halls: 100 sqm for each one – 2 Laboratory (sculpture and painting): 100 sqm – Auditorium: 100-200 seating – Bathrooms in the floor: 2 for males and 2 for females and 1 for people with disabilities – 2 Staff offices: 20 sqm for each one - Storage equipment + Staff locker room: 50 sqm - Green areas

Drawing & Submission
The files in digital format must be sent in a single moment, with each title in the alphanumeric code chosen at the discretion of the participants, by 23:59 on 30th of April 2018 to the email [email protected]; if the files exceed the capacity email you can use WeTransfer service to send them. Following the delivery the file cannot be re-submitted; in this case the participant will be excluded from the contest. This is part of the competition documentation:
-FORM A: Attached to this announcement and to be delivered in .pdf format after payment of the registration fee, to receive the material, and the delivery of the final project. In addition to it you have to resend the payment receipt.
-PROJECT TABLE: A digital file format A0 and drawn horizontally. It should be delivered in .jpg format with a resolution not exceeding 150 dpi. Anyone can decide how to draw up their work by inserting the elaborate plans, sections, three-dimensional reconstructions, render etc. The thesis project must contain at the top right an alphanumeric identifier (max 6 units) that each participant will choose freely.
-RELATION OF PROJECT: A folder A4 Word format, maximum 4000 characters including spaces, where not inserted images or graphics design. Internally they are described reasons formal and functional characterization of most of the proposal. In the header you must insert the alphanumeric code.

The results will be publish not later than the 21th of May 2018. The work of the jury is incontestable. Besides the winners and the eventual mentioned works, the rest of the participants will be consider tied.
Winners & awards
The winners will be announced on the website of the Association no later than the date of 21th of May
2018. The first three works will be deserving, are not excluded special mentions.
- The winner will receive a prize of 1000,00 euro (excluding TAX). - Top three finishers will have an annual digital subscription to MARK MAGAZINE.
- The winners and mentioned will be publicate on instaur.it and startfortalents.net (and on all the
sector portals that will promote the initiative), participation in future contests, workshops, and
tours organized by instaura.it and startfortlanets.net
