Performance

''The concept of my design, entitled The Easter Snow Theatre, named after the last piece of music written by Seamus Ennis, is to give the village of Naul a heartbeat and bring it to life. Its open and welcoming environment will allow it to be owned by the community, and its fresh and exciting atmos-phere will provide a plateau for regional music to thrive''

Project Description:

The project is situated on the site of the existing Seamus Ennis Cultural Centre in Naul, and the design is revolved around traditional Irish Music. A ‘barn like’ theatre is the focus of this project with secondary rooms to house other requirements of the brief.

A hard landscape exists on the west end of the site consisting of a court-yard enclosed by the theatre, the classrooms and the Seamus Ennis cen-tre. A soft landscape is located to the east consisting of large green space, with a set of steps in the mid-dle of the site that brings you from one environment to the other.
