March – April 2019

THEATER BUS For the “Over 55s”

Theater Bus, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to enriching the quality of life for all adults over 55 residing in the greater Madison community by providing safe,

affordable, escorted outings to theatrical, cultural and social events.

It’s time to come out of hibernation! Your Theater Bus

Selection Committee has picked 4 great trips to get

you out of the house and on the bus to usher in Spring!

If you are looking for hours of pure fun, than look no

further than our trip to Pec Playhouse in Pecatonica, IL

for their production of Run For Your Wife. You will

laugh from start to finish as the story of two wives,

two homes and one very busy man unfolds. We will

have lunch at Cimino’s in downtown Pecatonica.

Our second pick for March is one of the most enduring

shows of all time, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor

Dreamcoat. The Palace Theater in the Dells is thrilled

to present this award winning Andrew Lloyd Weber

musical. Don’t miss this timeless Old Testament tale,

set to a multitude of musical genres, spanning from

country-western, calypso, bubble-gum pop, and rock

and roll. Come along and travel down the Nile and see

the wonders of ancient Egypt as Joseph discovers that

“Any Dream Will Do”.

Next up is the high-spirited musical romp, Thoroughly

Modern Millie at the Waukesha Civic Theater. This

show will take you back to the Jazz Age in New York

City when flappers were bobbing their hair, raising

their hemlines, entering the workforce and re-writing

the rules of love. You are sure to enjoy the tap dancing

flappers and the dashing leading men. We will have

lunch at the Oconomowoc Golf Club before the show.

Our fourth springtime trip is to Byron, Illinois to visit

the Byron Civic Theatre. The Byron Civic Theatre

was organized in 1995 by a group of individuals

interested in bringing live quality stage entertainment

to Byron. This all-volunteer theater is celebrating its

twenty-fourth season now of producing plays and

musicals at the Byron Middle School. Join us to see

their production of Lucky Stiff. A timid shoe sales-

man, a six million dollar inheritance, a dead uncle and

a paid ‘vacation’ in Monte Carlo combine to make this

madcap musical comedy a sure-fire romantic delight.

This trip includes lunch at one of our favorite supper

clubs, the Butterfly Club in Beloit, WI.

Enjoy!

Spring Ahead!
