UN Campaigns

The competition is part of 'The Future We Want', the UN's global campaign leading up to the Rio+20 Conference. Deadline for submissions is 29 February 2012 UNEP Blogging Competition for World Environment Day http://www.unep.org/wed/blog/

UNEP, in partnership with TreeHugger, launched the third World Environment Day (WED) blogging competition.

Bloggers are invited to enter the competition via online submissions of blog articles on the Green Economy. This ties in with the overall WED 2012 theme - Green Economy: Does It Include You? - which aims to highlight opportunities for moving towards low carbon, resource-efficient and socially inclusive sustainable development.

The submission deadline is February 12, 2012.

'Art for Peace' 2012 http://www.unartforpeace.org The Office for Disarmament Affairs has launched a disarmament education contest for young people.

Youth from ages 5 through 17 are being urged to be creative and tap into their imaginations to draw, paint, sketch, use pens, pencils, crayons, charcoal, oil, acrylic paint or watercolours to illustrate a world free of nuclear weapons, without wars, without fear.

The submission deadline is April 30, 2012.
