Derridas EucharistDr. Herman RapaportReynolds Professor of EnglishWake Forest UniversityDuring this conference we shall philosophize together upon how Derridas Ethics as First Philosophy,goes back to Socrates aporetic roadblock to certainty which moves from pride to humility in approaching violence from pretending to honesty in approaching responsibiltiy from the ponorous to humour in approaching subjectivity from the pompous to healthin appraoching justice. We will also ponder together the theologies connected with dissemination, differance deconstruction and the decsiionsover the abyss of undecidability.
Marko Zlomisli was born in Rakitno, Bosnia-Hercegovina and came to Canada in 1970. He received his B.A. (Honours) and M.A. degrees in philosophy from Brock University and his Ph.D. from the Dominican University College in Ottawa. He attended Jacques Derridas seminars in Paris and wrote the introductions to the Croatian translation of The Other Heading and Specters of Marx. Dr. Zlomisli is currently professor of philosophy at Conestoga College, Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Kitchener where he teaches courses in ethics, aesthetics, the history of philosophy, critical theory and postmodernism. He is currently engaged in a number of writing projects. The first is a book critical of Slovenian psychoanalyst Slavoj Zizek. The second offers a detailed study of Franciscan Postmodernity.
