Zoom Prayer Central We will have our fortnightly church prayer meeting this Sunday evening (3rd May) 6.00pm - 6.40pm using Zoom. We will spend most of the time praying together in small groups.
Please join us again online on Sunday at 10.30am on our YouTube channel
We will be continuing our new sermon series in 1 Peter chapters 1 and 2. Find full details on our website.
the worksheet for children on Sunday should be in the notes below the service on YouTube and on the church website.
Starting on Monday 1st June we will be running a
Christianity Explored Course via Zoom. Christianity
Explored is an informal and relaxed course for anyone
who wants to think about the meaning of life. Its
completely free, you don’t need to know anything about
the Bible and you won’t be asked to pray or read the
Bible out loud. You can ask any question you like or you
can just sit and listen. Each week we will watch a video
clip presenting one of the claims of Jesus, and then have
time for discussion and questions.
It might be that you know someone who would be
interested in joining this course, why not invite them to join with you? The course will run on the
five Monday evenings in June from 8.00 - 9.00pm. To sign up, or receive more information,
please email [email protected]
We didn’t really need the onset of the
Coronavirus pandemic to show us that the
world we live in is broken, but it has put that
knowledge front and centre of our thinking
as we are forced to forgo freedoms in our
everyday lives because of it. Daily death
tolls on the news have also heightened the
sense of our own mortality and we have
once again been reminded that we are not
in complete control of every aspect of our
lives. As Christians we believe that God is
Good, and that He is Sovereign over
everything; so why has He allowed COVID-
19 to happen? In fact, how can He cause
anything bad to happen at all if He
claims to be loving? We are going to spend
three sessions looking at this huge question
and trying to understand why God allows
evil in this world.
The course will run on Thursdays 14th, 21st,
28th May, 8.00 - 9.30pm on Zoom. If you
are interested please go to the church
website for more information and to
register.

weekly by videoconference for 30-40 minutes
to reflect on the previous Sunday sermon
passage, or to look at a part of John’s Gospel
as well as to share prayer requests and pray
together. If you are not in a growth group but

In an attempt to continue
to be a church family
while unable to meet
together why don't you
call someone from
church to say 'hello'
before church on Sunday
morning - in an attempt to 'welcome' them
to church. Or arrange to have a phone call
or to 'meet' someone for coffee on Skype or
Zoom after church on Sunday morning to
share what encouraged you from the
service and to catch up?
11.00 am on Friday on the church
YouTube channel.

To keep this going we
are needing more
volunteers to do a 'Lockdown' slot. You don't
need to be of a certain age or a family - it
would be great to hear from anyone. Just film
yourself (landscape) telling us the following:
1. What have you been doing during
Lockdown?
2. How have you be staying close to Jesus
during Lockdown?
3. A message for us at Church.
Then send to AJ [email protected] .
Have you been listening to Richard's weekday
devotional videos working through New City
Catechism? They are released on YouTube at
8:00am every weekday and over the course of
the next couple of months the plan is to work
through all 52 questions and answers in the
catechism, reading excerpts from the reflections
that accompany them. These questions and
answers focus on the character of God, the
gospel message and how to grow as a believer. If
you've missed some they are all on our YouTube
channel
If you are self isolating and in need of practical
support please contact Jess
([email protected]). There are lots
of people who have volunteered to help those
isolating, so it will not be a particular burden to
any one person.
HOUSING:
In September Abi Coward will
join the staff team at
Woodgreen as a Ministry
Trainee for 2 years. We are
hoping that an individual or
family from Woodgreen might
be willing to let Abi live with
them during this time for a
discounted rent. If you are interested in exploring
this possibility, please contact
Abi [email protected] or Duncan
Cobbett [email protected]
to discuss.

Margaret Sledge would like to thank all those
who sent cards and messages of sympathy
following her Mum's death at the age of 100
on Good Friday. The cremation service last
Friday was a fitting 'Au Revoir'.
Together in Prayer:
Let's pray together this week:
• Praise God that he is sovereign and in control, even when we feel unsettled at times like
this. Pray that in times of doubt or grief or depression we would remember that our God
is all-loving and all-powerful and purposes all things for our eternal good.
• Pray for those in the church family who have mental health issues, which can be made
worse by the lock-down. Pray that we would support those individuals well as a church
family, and pray that they may know God’s personal, shepherdly care for them.
• Thank God for all that Growth Group leaders are doing to lead and care for those in
their groups. Please pray that through these weekly meetings via Zoom we would
encourage other from God’s word, enjoy fellowship, and have refreshing times of prayer
together.
• Pray that God would provide for the financial needs of all in our church family, especially
for those who are feeling anxious about their employment situation.
If you need any technical help in getting
online please contact the address below or
ring the church office 01905754548 and we
will see what we can do. If you know of those
who do not have the internet or would be
unable to access YouTube: We are aiming to
provide a limited number of DVDs of the
Sunday services which we will try to deliver.
Please email the address below or contact
the church office to request one of these and
we will do our best.
