Jaya, Asha, Rosa These school girls want to know all about nature andhow to protect it.

The Farmers They produce the ood we eat.Droppy helps them to improve their productionwithout compromising water quality .

Faecal Coli orms They are very nasty bacteria which make people ill,and which come rom the wastewater.

Heavy Metals (Copper, Cadmium and Lead) The heavy metal band also makes people ill. They escape rom corroded batteries.

Ali lives in an Arab country. He learns that wateris precious and must not be wasted.

Droppy and his water drop riends go on a trip. They travel up to the clouds, all as rain to helpthirsty plants, enter and leave the soil and theaqui er, and experience many more adventures.

In South-East Asia Budi rees the heavy metals,which, together with some drops o oil, pollutethe water and make Budi ill. He learns thatwaste collection and recycling can preventpollution and illnesses.

Makwetu comes rom the Sub-Saharan region.He gets ill by drinking polluted water rom a wella ected by a nearby cesspit. Dr. Nature explainsthe importance o a sewer system or health.

Droppy goes to the countryside in Eastern Asiato nd out where ood comes rom. He meetssome East Asian armers and helps them toprotect water in the rural areas.

Asha and Jaya in South Asia want toetch water but only nd an empty well.

Sustainable Groundwater Management or Tomorrows LivelihoodsBGRs Guiding Principle in the Field o Groundwater Management

As Germanys ofcial implementing agency or development

cooperation (DC) in the geo-sector, BGR supports partnercountries with science based advisory services to manage

their water resources in a sustainable manner.

With adapted advisory instruments, BGR contributes to the broaderprocess o implementing Integrated Water Resources Management(IWRM) and hence supports structural re orms in the water sector.

BGR has a long lasting experience in advisory services to partnercountries. The services range rom activities such as groundwater

exploration, quantitative and qualitative assessment o groundwaterresources and their use, groundwater protection, geothermal use

o groundwater and capacity building at various levels.Since the 1960s BGR has been working in more than 60 countries
