Three years ago I cofounded Chipolo with a simple goal: I wanted to help my friend, who was always losing things. The list is very, very long. It includes two phones; a wallet; car keys; backpacks—even a harnesses for climbing.

I was inspired to help my friend so he would never feel that sense of loss again. We launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to see if other people had the same problem, and discovered thousands of people who lost all sorts of precious things: laptops, bikes, keys, wallets, purses and passports.

The idea for Chipolo was simple: a small, an affordable tracking device people could attach to the things they didn’t want to lose. It would send frequent, private signals to the owner’s smartphone and the Chipolo network so it could always be located.

We shipped the original Chipolo in April 2014. Over two years later, we have sold 1 million Chipolos and we helped people find thousands of items—a testament to the value of helping people find the things they care about.

Our latest introduction, Chipolo Plus, is the result of listening to customers who told us they wanted to protect even more things.

In the end, we hope Chipolo helps people find more than just their keys. We hope it helps them find peace of mind.

Chipolo Community Find

If your Chipolo is not where the app last saw it, tap the Notify When Found button in the app. This will securely and anonymously put all other Chipolo apps on the lookout for your Chipolo. You’ll receive an alert if any other phone in the Chipolo Community comes within range of your item. Chipolo Community Find uses Chipolo's global community which spans 150 countries and helps people locate more than 50,000 items every day.

Easy Setup

1. Download the Chipolo app from App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Register your account. 3. Setup your first Chipolo by tapping the “+” sign in

the left top corner. 4. Press the Chipolo Plus to pair it to the app.

How to Ring your Chipolo Plus

1. Open up the Chipolo app to find your list of Chipolos.

2. Tap the Chipolo in your list you want to ring. 3. Tap the “Ring” button.* 4. Listen for the Chipolo melody. 5. After you’ve found your Chipolo Plus, tap the

“Done” button to make your Chipolo Plus stop ringing.

*Note: You need to be in Bluetooth range (up to 200ft.) and connected to your Chipolo Plus to be able to ring it. You can tell if you’re in range by the icon beside the Chipolo icon in your app. If it’s a Bell icon, you’re good to go!

How to Ring your Phone

1. Double press the Chipolo Plus. If your lost phone is within the 200-foot Bluetooth range*, it will loudly ring - even on silent.

2. If you lost your phone far away, finding it is still easy. Log into our website app to see its last known location, to make it ring, or to send a lock-screen message to the friendly folks who might find it.

*Note: Phone must be within Bluetooth range in order to reverse ring your phone.
