Geography tackles the big issues: environmental responsibility our global interdependence cultural understanding and tolerance global hazards. Geographical study fosters these qualities and provides a firm basis for life-long learning. The transferable skills which geography fosters are an asset in the complex world of employment today. Geography is about the future and encourages flexible thinking.

In part this is because the subject combines a knowledge of science and an understanding of the arts. It therefore combines well with any other GCSE subject. Is geography a good choice in terms of getting a job? Unit 2: Geographical Enquiry A fieldwork investigation and written report completed in class time under controlled conditions based on river environments. The report is worth 25% of the final grade Unit 3: Sustainable Decision Making Exercise Develop real life skills that are relevant to future decision- making. A written exam based on a resource booklet The topic will be related to sustainable development and environmental issues. This 1 hour exam (higher and foundation), is worth 25% of the final grade.
