VILLAGE MANAGER & CEO RAMBLINGS……

Stay safe As our community becomes more active and gets back to business, it's important that we:

• follow the NSW rules for gatherings that apply to individuals and businesses • maintain a physical distance of at least 1.5 metres from others • practise good hand hygiene • stay active and healthy • take extra care if you're around vulnerable people • get tested if you have any symptoms, even if they are only mild • stay home until you get the test result, or are medically cleared.

What has changed From Friday 15 May, the following is allowed:

• public gatherings of up to 10 people • food and drink premises can open, but only to seat a maximum of 10

customers at any one time – this includes cafes and restaurants, a restaurant within a registered club or pub, or a cellar door that serves food

• up to 5 visitors may visit another household at any one time • weddings can have up to 10 guests plus the people conducting or assisting in

the conduct of the service, a photographer, a videographer, and the couple • indoor funerals and memorial services can have up to 20 mourners and

outdoor funerals up to 30 mourners • religious gatherings and places of worship can have up to 10 worshippers • outdoor playground and exercise equipment can be used with caution • outdoor pools can open with restrictions.

Upcoming changes From Monday 1 June 2020, the following will be allowed:

• travel to regional NSW for a holiday - NSW residents will be able to take a holiday anywhere in NSW from next month, with intra-state travel restrictions to be lifted from Monday 1 June 2020.

• visits to museums, galleries and libraries – Social Distancing must be adhered to at all times.

• pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants - The NSW Government will allow pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants to have up to 50 customers, subject to a one person per four square metre rule, and with strict social distancing guidelines from 1 June 2020.

All customers must be seated and no bookings of more than 10 allowed, in addition to many other conditions which must be met.

• Beauty Salons and nail services can recommence - Beauty and nail salon operators can begin treatments from June 1 under strict COVID-19 safe

guidelines. Premier Gladys Berejiklian said this is another important step in easing restrictions while maintaining public safety.

Rules that continue to apply include • the 4 square metre rule • physical distancing • hygiene and safety requirements for businesses.

Restrictions have eased but your responsibility hasn’t.

Don’t let your complacency set us all back.

Avoid large crowds - no more than 10 people

↔ Keep 1.5 metres apart and one person per four square metres for indoor venues

 Continue good hand hygiene

Stay home if you’re sick and get tested if you’re experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED THE COVID SAFE APP Follow the rules and stay safe whether you are working, visiting family and

friends, or going out.

If you need to see Dr Ledwidge on a Thursday in the Lodge, make sure you contact the office on 9481 8842 at least 48 hours prior (unless it is an emergency) to arrange your

appointment time

At this stage, restrictions have not been eased for indoor activities, such as

the Gym, Table tennis, carpet bowls etc. Our policy for the Gym remains the

same, contact the office for a key, there is to be only 1 person exercising at a

time, and you must wipe all equipment down after use. You must also bring

your own towel and water. This will be monitored closely and if people are not

GROUNDS & MAINTENACE

GARDENS May 2020 gave us a mixed bag of weather, some sunny days, some windy days and some rainy days and one storm which we coped with quite well.

Warragamba Dam is 83% full at the moment which is pretty good because this time last year it was only 54.9%.

The name Warragamba comes from the Aboriginal words Warra and Gamba which means ‘water running over rocks’.

The grounds and gardens are looking good due to rain and help from all our Garden helpers. The Garden Club is back up and running Monday mornings at 9am, meet up near the bus. The more the merrier! no pressure, just come along for a walk and a chat, it’s a great environmental exercise, but remember you MUST exercise Social Distancing.

Special thanks to all the Gardeners who work on small, extra areas, keeping the Village looking its best. This month I recommend when out walking have a look at the Gardens around Blocks 3 & 4 along the bottom road. Our Gymea Lily, near Villa 7 is ready to flower and our Grass tree (Xanthorrhoea) with single flower spike (outside Unit 47) is stunning. We are very happy to see the Grass tree doing well because we transplanted it a couple of years ago (see photo).

MAINTENANCE

SAFETY

Road Safety - Speeding in Village

Residents and visitors MUST obey the 10Km speed limit. The corner around Villa 7 is particularly bad. Slow down and think of other residents.

VOLUNTEERS

All group and volunteer activities have a degree of risks which have to be identified, everyone needs to be educated to minimise risks and hazards at all times and use their common sense!

The Village Management will hold meetings with groups or individuals or we will print information in the newsletter, to ensure everyone is working in a correct and safe way and to make sure everyone is using (PPE) personal protection equipment to complete their task or activity safely. These groups include:

Maintenance Club – e.g-Eye protection, Hand protection and closed in shoes

Gardening Club & everyone who gardens- e.g - Eye and Hand protection

PATH CLEANING

We have started pressure cleaning the garbage bays and we will move onto paths and steps around the village this month (weather permitting).

Did you notice the new flag out the front of the Village?

WE WILL BE TESTING OF OUR NEW EVACUATION/WARNING SYSTEM ON

MONDAY 1ST JUNE, 2020 AT 11AM YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO DO ANYTHING

THE TESTING SHOULD TAKE APPROX 30 MINS

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE OF ALL………

FROM SANDRA’S DESK

Sales

As you can imagine sales have been a little slow over the past couple of months, however we are hopeful of an increase in enquiries as restrictions are eased a little. We have managed a sale through this time, Garden Unit 21 has been sold, a new resident arriving soon.

Board Approval

Many of you are aware that if you are looking to do any renovations to your property then you are required to seek approval from the Board of Directors. The Board meet on the last Tuesday of every month and I prepare the paper work for the board meeting a week prior to this and send to the directors so they have time to review the contents of the paperwork prior to the meeting.

If possible, can you please have your request for any alterations etc. to me or Sarah by the third Monday of the month so I have time to include your request in the paperwork being sent to the Directors. If you miss this deadline then you may have to wait another month before approval can be obtained.

Budget

Thanks to all of you who sent in your feedback forms, you will find answers to your queries included as an insert in this month’s Chronicle.
