brae news & eventsOpen House Volunteers Needed

Attention all BRAE/ASM students. We need volunteers to work various shifts this Friday and Saturday for Cal Poly Open House.

On Friday morning of April 17th we need volunteers to lead prospective students from the PAC to the Farm Shop. In the Farm Shop, there will be speeches by students and faculty in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environments Sciences for prospective students and their parents. Also on Friday, we need volunteers to lead these prospective students around the labs and classrooms and to talk about what our department has to offer.

On Saturday, April 18th, from 7am-5pm, we need volunteers to work/set up/clean up the booth for Ag Pavilion (in the farm shop). Ag Pavilion will include booths for every department in CAFES. Our booth will be collaboration between the BRAE Department and department clubs/or-ganizations (AES/ASABE/SAE/ITRC). Its purpose is to showcase student projects and talk to prospective students about why this is the BEST de-partment on campus! This would be the perfect place to tell others why you chose your major and what your classes have been like!

These volunteer opportunities are for Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Se-nior, and Transfer students. Can only make an hour or two? That’s okay! Any time you can volunteer for is greatly appreciated! All those interest-ed, please email Susie Parrish the AES Open House Rep at [email protected] ASAP to sign up for a time slot for either day.

Thanks!
