“He” = the prince who is to come = the Leader of the People Who Destroyed Jerusalem = Antichrist = Major Antagonist.

He Will Make a Covenant with Israel (to Rebuild the Temple). He Will Break to Covenant, Stop Sacrifice, Bring an Idol, in

the Middle of the 70th Week (Tribulation). He Will Be Destroyed by God at the End of the Tribulation.

These Things Happened in the Potential Terminus ad Quem: In 122 B.C., It Was the 40th Year of the Hasmonean Kingdom, Ruled

by John Hyrcanus, in His 12th Year. In 53 B.C., It Was the 109th Year of the Hasmonean Kingdom, Ruled

by Hyrcanus II, in the 11th Year of His 2nd Reign; While in Rome, the 1st Triumvirate Ended with the Death of Crassus, and a Civil War Was Brewing between Caesar and Pompey.

In 37 B.C., Herod the Great, Who Was Appointed the King of the Jews by Rome in 40 B.C., Conquered Jerusalem. He Would Renovate the 2nd Temple, its Edifice during 20-18 B.C., and the Platform Was under Construction All the Way till A.D.60, Shortly before the Destruction in A.D.70. 459 B.C., and Reach A.D.26, Rather Than A.D.25. They Assume That Jesus Died in A.D.30 (A Possibility, since the Passover Was also on a Friday in That Year, Together with A.D.33), thus Began His Ministry in A.D.26.

But Their Terminus a Quo Is Wrong by 1 Year; and Their Terminus ad Quem by 3 Years. For Jesus’ Death Is More Likely in A.D.33, since Pontius Pilate’s Sponsor in the Royal Court, Sejanus, Was Denounced and Killed in Oct 18, A.D.31. Pilate Would Not Fear the Jew’s Accusation before then that He Was Not a “Friend of Caesar” (John 19:12). Also, Jesus Wasn’t “Cut-off” in the Beginning of His Ministry, but at the End.

He Seemed to “Have Nothing” to the Jews, While Actually Ruling as the King of the Universe, and the Head of the Church.

Why Is It the Greatest Prophecy?

It Gives the Precise Date of the Messiah’s First Advent. It Is Verified by Scientific Astronomical Retro-Calculation. It Gives a Plausible Explanation to the “Cutting-off” of Messiah. It Predicts a Gap, during Which the Temple Would Be Destroyed

and the Land Would Become Desolate, and It Became True. It Established the Paradigm of Eschatology, Where the 70th Week

of Daniel Would Be the 7-Year Tribulation. It Predicted the Major Antagonist (Antichrist) Making (at the

Beginning of the Tribulation) and Breaking (in Its Middle) a Covenant with Israel on the 3rd Temple’s Rebuilding and Worship.

The Prophecy Cannot Be Said to Be Made After the Fulfillment. It Gives a Beautiful Symmetric Picture of God’s Plan for History.

Bending the Prophecy: 1st Attempt

The Septuagint (Old Greek) Translation of the Hebrew OT (2nd Century B.C.) Made Daniel 9:24-27 Read Like This (A New English Translation of the Septuagint, ed. A. Pietersma & B. Wright):

“24 Seventy weeks have been decided for your people and for the city, Sion: for sin to be consummated and to make iniquities scarce and to blot out iniquities and to comprehend the vision to be consummated and to gladden a holy of holies. 25And you shall understand and will rejoice and will discover ordinances to respond, and you will build Jerusalem as a city for the Lord.” (OG Daniel 9:24-25, NETS)


The Old Greek Daniel 9:26-27 Reads Like : “26And after seven weeks and sixty two weeks, an anointing will

be removed and will not be. And a king of nations will demolish the city and the sanctuary along with the anointed one, and his consummation will come with a wrath even until the time of consummation. He will be attacked through war. 27And the covenant will prevail for many, and it will return again and be rebuilt broad and long. And at the consummation of times [even after seven years and seventy times and sixty-two-times] [until the time of the consummation of the war even desolation will be removed] [when the covenant prevails for many weeks]. And in half a week the sacrifice and the libation will cease, and in the temple there will be an abomination of desolation until the consummation of a season, and a consummation will be given to the desolation.” (OG Daniel 9:26-27, NETS)


It Seems that the OG Translators (during the Time of the Hasmonean Kingdom [164-37 B.C.]) Bent the Prophecy to Be Realized in the Time of the Maccabeans/Hasmoneans:

“7 years and 70 times and 62-times” = 7 + 70 + 62 = 139 Years. The Seleucian Era (from 312 B.C.) Was Universally Accepted in

the Middle East in Greco-Roman Time (312 B.C.-A.D.300s). 312 B.C. – 139 = 173 B.C. The High Priest Onias III (“the Anointed”) Was Removed in 175

B.C. and Killed in 170 B.C. Antiochus IV Epiphanes Desecrated the Temple in 167-164 B.C. The Maccabeans Rededicated the Temple in IX/25, 164 B.C.

Bending the Prophecy: 2nd Attempt

Due to the 3 Decrees (Cyrus to Zerubbabel in 536, Artaxerxes I to Ezra in 459 and to Nehemiah in 444 B.C.), The 3 Expected Dates (53 B.C., A.D.25, and A.D.40) Formed a “Century of Expectation” for the Messiah to Appear.

The First Two Dates Passed without Incident. Jesus Was Rejected in A.D. 33.

In A.D. 40, Herod Agrippa I Was Regarded by the Jews as the Messiah, and by the Church as the Antichrist. He Ruled for 3 Years (40T-42T = A.D.41-43), and Was Killed by an Insect Bite.

Some Document (Dissipation of the Darkness) Shows that Herod Agrippa I Founded a Secret Organization (Mysterious Force) to Combat Christianity, Which Became the Free Masons in Modern Times.

Bending the Prophecy: 3rd Attempt

Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matt 24-25) on Wed, I/13, A.D.33 Answered 3 Questions (but in the Reversed Order): “When Will This (the Fall of the 2nd Temple) Happen?” “What Are the Signs of Your (2nd) Coming?” “What Are the Signs of the End of the Age?”

Jesus Said That “This Generation Shall Not Pass until All These Things (the Fall of the Temple) Happen.”

1 Generation = 40 Years (the 1st Generation after Exodus; 3 Kings of the United Kingdom of Israel and Judah: Saul, David and Solomon).

A.D. 33 + 40 = A.D. 73; Taking Away the Tribulation A.D. 73 – 7 = A.D. 66. Jesus Was Expected to Come Back in A.D. 66. He Didn’t. Many of the

“Thousands Who Believed in Him” Turned Back to the Old Religion, and the First Jewish Revolt Against Rome Broke Out in A.D.66. It Lasted for 7 Years until the Fall of Masada in A.D.73. The Temple Fell in A.D.70.

Bending the Prophecy: 4th Attempt

All Jewish Sects Perished in A.D.70 (Sadducees, Essenes, Zealots, even Edomites) except Pharisees (and the Christians).

The Pharisees (through Rabi Jonathan ben Zakai) Brought Out the Original OT Bible in the Temple, and Made Studying the Bible as the New Sacrifice for Atonement.

They Recalculated the Prophecy, by Shrinking the Persian History from c.200 Years to c.50 Years, Moving the Fall of the 1st Temple to 422T, the “Return” to 352T (70 Years Later), So That the 2nd Temple Would Fall Exactly 490 Years after the 1st (422T B.C. + A.D.69T – 1 = 490), and the 483rd Year from the “Return” Would Fall in A.D.132 (483 – 352T B.C. +1 = A.D. 132), the Beginning of the Bar Kohkba (2nd Jewish) Revolt (A.D.132-135).
