The Walk
With Christ
Serving Eastern Washington,
Northern Idaho & Northeastern Oregon
Walk #214 June 2015
The objective of The Walk is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action.
So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by
My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 4:6
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Contemplating what my message to the community could be for this issue of the Rooster Tales, I have been remind-
ed of financial responsibilities. April 15 has come and gone again and in its wake I feel a little lighter in my bank
account, yet I have a feeling of thanksgiving that I am blessed to live in this country and have the opportunity to pay
my share. I am comforted to know that God has blessed me with just what I need, not too much or too little. He will
provide for me if I will turn my life over to Him and truly trust in Him. Along with this blessing comes the personal
responsibility of being a good steward of what He has provided.
He also provides the Walk with what we need and will continue to do so as long as we truly seek and follow Him and
remain good stewards of these blessings. Upon reflection, it seems appropriate to share with the community exactly
what the financial side of our ministry looks like. Until I was asked to serve on the Secretariat I had no idea what it
takes, financially, to keep this ministry going. The following is intended only to provide you a clear picture of what
the Walk costs are and the amount it takes to cover them.
The following is a breakdown of the budget cost:
President’s Letter continued next page.
Cost item Cost per
Walk
Cost per Year
(8 walks)*
*Yearly cost based on 8 Walks (3 Couple’s Walks and 2
Women’s Only Walks.)
The “Cost per Walk” shown for Director/a, Chef,
Palanca, Recorder, Cha, Agape, and Love Team is the
budget provided for each team to provide necessary
items for each Walk.
The Rooster Tales is currently printed and mailed prior
to each Walk. Cost is based on 3 Couples Walks and 2
Women’s Only Walks for a total of 5 Walks. The cost
per Walk distribution is $1700, or an annual cost of
$8500.
Note that in 2016 we will be returning to 4 Couple’s
Walks increasing total distribution costs to $10,200.
In addition to the printing and postage fees we also
pay a fee of $.49 per copy that is returned as
undeliverable. This typically amounts to an
additional cost of $50.00 per issue.
Income per Walk --- Income is based on approximate-
ly 65 Team Workers paying $75.00 per Walk.

President’s Letter (continued)
As you can see, if we were operating on our own might and power we would soon be bankrupt. Through God’s grace and
blessings and the financial support in gifts/donations from the community, we continue.
Looking at ways we can be better stewards of the financial gifts we have been blessed with (and not raise the worker fees),
through much prayer and discussion the Secretariat has made the following decision: The Walk #216 Rooster Tales which
will be distributed in November 2015 will be the final copy printed and distributed through the postal system. The Rooster
Tales is now readily available to all community members via the Walk website at http://www.thewalkwithchrist.org/ in the
Community Resources area; the password for access is 20twwc15.
NOTE: For those that do not have internet access, mailing can continue with an annual subscription fee of $7.50
In closing, please consider this snapshot of the financial picture of the Walk With Christ ministry, continuing to pray for
the Secretariat as we make decisions in the coming months. Any comments or suggestions from the community are wel-
come; please use the “Contact Us” tab on the home page of the Walk With Christ website, or contact any Secretariat mem-
ber.
Love in Christ,
Steve Cloninger, President TWWC
Rooster Tales by Mail Request Yes - please send me the Rooster Tales via the postal service; in return, I agree to pay by check (or PayPal via the
website) the fee of $7.50 annually to cover the cost (due in January 2016.) The notification deadline is 12/31/15.

THE WALK WITH CHRIST
For The Development of Christian Leaders
The focus of The Walk With Christ community is not on itself, but on the local church. The objective of the
“Walk” is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action, in their homes, churches,
places of work and communities. The weekend is a 3-day (72 hours) experience that begins Thursday evening and
concludes Sunday evening.
The Gospel of St. Luke relates the story of the risen Christ appearing to two who were walking along the road from
Jerusalem to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). This story provides the image for The Walk With Christ Weekend that calls for
and renews Christian discipleship.
Two friends were walking together. They were sharing their deepest hearts' concerns. The risen Christ joined them and
explained the scriptures as they walked; how it was ordained that Christ should suffer and so enter his glory. This experi-
ence on the road was a heart-warming experience as the risen Christ walked and talked with them. The illuminating
climax of the experience was when Christ took the bread and said the blessing, then broke it and gave it to them. The
two had their eyes opened and they recognized him as the risen Christ.
The Walk With Christ is centered in the weekend experience. This “Walk” is with friends; the scriptures are explained in
such a way to bring light and understanding to our needs. For many, it will be a heart-warming experience. Many will
share so deeply in worship and Holy Communion that their eyes will be opened and see the risen Christ. Participants will
study, discuss, and experience God's grace in community. The context will be in 15 presentations led by lay and clergy
and around the theme of God's grace and how that grace comes alive in the Christian community and expresses itself in
the world. This grace will become personal in small communities through a unique approach to table group discussions.
Those attending the weekend personally experience God's grace through prayers and acts of service of a living support
community. One of the primary strengths of The Walk With Christ is the follow-up activities.
There are two expectations of a person following his or her "Walk With Christ":
1. Expand his/her own inner spiritual life.
2. Become a more active disciple of Christ in the World through his/her church.
Statement of Faith
We believe in the inspired Word of God and the Holy Scriptures as our authority of faith and practice.
We believe in the Holy Trinity as one God manifested in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is our Father,
Creator, and Sustainer of all life. Jesus Christ is true God and true man, and He is the only way to the Father because of
His unique birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension. The Holy Spirit is equally God whose ministry is to convict,
indwell, and empower every Christian.
We believe man (Genesis 5:1-2) was created in God's image, but through Adam's fall we inherited a sinful nature.
Personal salvation is attained only through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Personal Savior. Discipleship, growth, and
accountability in Christ and the Church are necessary for every believer.
We believe in God's prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace which draws us into divine relationship — that it must
be claimed as an act of faith, and is then perfected through the power of the Holy Spirit. Baptism and Holy Communion
are the outward and visible signs of this inward and spiritual grace.
We believe that the local church is Christ's witness to the world. We believe The Walk With Christ Weekend supports
the local church by nurturing and encouraging dedicated Christian leaders by promoting unity, inspiration, and
fellowship in Christ.

The Walk With Christ
Director/Directora Nomination Questionnaire
All individuals elected to leadership positions in The Walk With Christ community are first nominated by a pilgrim.
The Nominations Committee, which reports to the Secretariat, receives and reviews these nominations to provide

which discusses and votes on them, after prayerfully seeking guidance.
Nominations and elections are held at least six months (longer, if possible) prior to the Walk being considered. Every
nomination will be deliberated upon for up to three consecutive Secretariat meetings and then must be re-nominated for
further consideration. A nomination form is not maintained past the third Secretariat meeting at which it is considered.
If you have any other questions regarding the nomination process, please ask any Secretariat member. Please mail this
