June 6. Go to www.peacesaginaw.org and click on the VBS information banner. If you have questions, contact Sheila Wazny at 793.9025, extension 329, or [email protected]. VBS is supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. The last day of school will be Wednesday, June 4th. Our closing chapel service will begin at 8:20 a.m. Students will be dismissed following the chapel service. Peace School Day Extended for the 2014-15 School Year: In an effort to maximize instructional time, enhance core academic times, and add specialized instruction, the school day for the 2014-15 school year will be extended. The new start time for school will be 7:45am and dismissal will be 3:15pm. We know this will be somewhat of an adjustment; however, we believe with the additional teaching time, students will benefit as our curriculum will be enhanced from a strong program to one that is even more comprehensive.

You Are SENT to Share the Gospel; Be Equipped and Empowered at a Dynamic Outreach Conference: Did you know that only two in 10 people in the United States will attend church this Sunday? Or that between the years 2010 and 2012, more than half of all churches in America did not add even one new member? Today, the need for us to provide a message of hope for the hopeless and healing for the broken is greater than ever. Join other Christians from across North America who desire to see the Gospel shared in their communities and around the world by attending the Lutheran Hour Ministries Outreach Conference at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit, Mich., July 24-27. Visit www.lhm.org/conference for more information or call 1.800.876.9880.

Church mailboxes

Peace's Community Garden: Plans for our community garden adjacent to our school on Lawndale are making good progress for a start up this spring. This year, plots will be available for Peace school children and there will also be a

limited number of plots available for Peace members. Eventually, the garden will be an outreach to the Saginaw community as well. There are some start up costs, the biggest being the need for a water supply to the area. If you feel led to donate financially to this interesting project, simply write your check out to "Peace Lutheran Church" and write "Community Garden" on the memo line. Any amount will be much appreciated. If you're interested in more information, our chair person is Carol Chisholm at 860.3510. 2014-2015 Peace School Year - There are openings at Peace Lutheran School for 3 year old Preschool (Sept.-May) with Mrs. Williams, 4 year old Prekindergarten (Sept.-May) with Mrs. Kelly, & 3 & 4 year old Extended Care (year-round) with Mrs. Zolton.
