The style of partner dancing we know as Modern Jive was initially

developed in France after the war, as a development of the Swing dancing brought over from

America by the GIs. The name LeRoc shows its French origins. This also explains the name

Ceroc, which is derived from ‘C’est le roc’.

So, come on all you budding Jiveists, get a'boppin at the CPC, and shake that booty! (Even if it is

a little slower than the normal jive.)

Craft Beer Appreciation

Over the past decade there has been a surge in new micro-breweries bringing with them a vast

range of new craft beers. People from the UK will probably know these craft ales as Real Ales,

meaning they are drawn with gravity rather than gas. The life of a real ale is short, because it has

fewer additives and is kept in kegs rather than bottles; they are usually stored in non-refrigerated

cellars.

Did you know you have a story in you?

Did you know we have published authors with the Oliva U3A?

Did you know you can now put these two facts together?

We are gauging interest in a new group aimed at all levels; those who

would love to have a go at being creative with words and those who have a little experience and

would like some feedback or share knowledge with others.

You will be able to express your ideas in the form of writing. This could be flash fiction/fiction,

history, children's or adult or even short story. Perhaps poetry for fun or script writing: whatever

takes your fancy! Or maybe you like the idea of illustrations for books, or even narration.
