WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
Blohm Jewelers has been a cornerstone of the Elko area for a little over 75 years. Blohm Jewelers was founded and owned first by Walter N. Blohm in 1941, followed by his son, Ted Blohm who purchased the store from his father in 1963. In 1974, Blohm’s celebrated the grand opening of the iconic, lava-rocked store front you see today at 495 Idaho Street.
A family-owned, local business that values trust, integrity, honesty and expertise, has found success through their desire to provide just that to their customers.
Manager, Pat Lamoureux expressed that she feels that the Blohm’s have made her a part of the family, both in the store and outside of the store. Additonally, she feels that the term “family” isn’t just a word in their business model, but rather a genuine experience extended to their customers and their community.
“Community” is not an unfamiliar undertaking to the Blohm family either. Pat said, “She [Lina Blohm] is involved in so much in our town – attending and participating in events, fundraisers and other organizations.”
Lina Blohm is also certified jeweler of the Independent Jewelers Organization (IGO) as well as owner of Blohm Jewelers.
This Valentine’s or Mother’s Day, consider stopping by to browse their wide variety of quality jewelry, Waterford Crystal, Murano Italian Glass and more, for that unique gift to fit your price range.

One in three people in the United States have prediabetes. Prediabetes is when a person has higher blood sugar than normal but not quite high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. People with prediabetes are at higher risk of developing diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Risk factors for developing prediabetes include having a family history of diabetes, history of gestational diabetes (females), age greater than 40, engaging in minimal physical activity, and not maintaining a healthy weight.
The good news is that you can prevent Type 2 diabetes with a few lifestyle modifications. After this four-week series you will have the knowledge and skills to modify your eating habits.Curriculum used for the class will be based on the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program.Feb. 6 Eat Well and Prevent Type 2 DiabetesFeb. 13 Tracking Your Food Intake and Portion ControlFeb. 20 Shop and Cook to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Feb. 27 Eat Well Away from Home
