The camp season is officially over. Zenith and Cornerstone have come and gone. The students are tired, the ministers are tired, but everyone has been blessed. The topic for Zenith was “Mercy.” Mitch Wilburn did an excellent job of conveying the mercy God has on us and our responsibility to reciprocate that mercy to others. The theme for Cornerstone was “Pause.” An emphasis was placed on putting our busy schedules aside and spending time in God’s presence.

God worked powerfully through both of our summer camps. Five of our students chose to give their lives to Christ: Ryan Jackson, Ashton Hladik, Hunter Covalt, Ashley Hamlin, and Milahn Atchison. Milahn attended Zenith because of a conversation at Back Yard Bible School at Reed’s Landing. It was exciting to see God’s work through us at Reed’s Landing led to the baptism of our wonderful new friend and sister in Christ. Let’s remember this example during VBS and in our daily conversations.

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. I Cor. 3:6

My prayer is that the conversations, friendships, experiences, and service that made camp so impactful will catapult our students into a good finish for the summer and excellent start to the school year.
