preface.
mHEEE are but two Visitations of the County of Eutland, viz.,
one made in the year 1618 by William Camden, Clareneeux
King of Arms, and the other in 1681-2. The first Visitation was
issued in the year 1870, and formed Volume III of The Publications
of The Harleian Society. The Original of the 1618 Visitation is in
the College of Arms (marked C 14).
The other Visitation (viz. that of 1681-2) is contained in the
following Volume. - ,y^ >y . r^
The Original Visitation of 1681-2 is in the College of Arms
(marked K 1) and comprises that of the Counties of Northampton
and Eutland under separate openings.

Report for tfje fear 1021
*T*HE Council have to report that since the Annual Meeting five new
Subscribers have joined the Society (all of whom belong to the
Eegister Section), nine Subscribers have died (of whom six belonged to
the Register Section), eight Subscribers have resigned (of whom five belonged
to the Register Section).
Part IV of Allegations for Marriage Licences in the Archdeaconry of
Sudbury, Suffolk, for the period 1815 to 1839, with an Index to Parts III
and IV, edited by the Secretary, forming the seventy-second volume of
the Ordinary Publications, has been issued to the Subscribers for 1921.
The Visitation of Rutland in 1681-2 will form the volume for 1922.
Part III of the Marriage Registers of St. Mary-le-Bone, Middlesex,
from 1775 to 1783, edited by the Secretary, forming the fifty-first volume
of the Register Section, has been issued to the Subscribers for 1921.
Part IV of the same Register from 1783 to 1792 will form the volume
for 1922.
The Balance Sheet for the year, duly audited, is appended to the
Report.
