The 34th Annual Wine Country Classic Boat Show was held on July 16 and 17, 2016 in beautiful Hammondsport, New York. The weekend was spectacular. We had more boats at this year's show than in previous years. The weather could not have been more perfect. This year's theme was "Boats Built in the Finger Lakes".

Saturday started with Morgan Sinserbox singing the National Anthem. Blythe Jakubowski led the Hagerty Youth Judging with a number of the kids. We also had a nice display of Woodie cars. This year we had one that drove all the way from Georgia. This show was also a judged show headed up by Wes VanDine.

In the afternoon we had our parade of boats which was led by the Hammondsport Fire Department’s fire boat and the day concluded with our banquet at the Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, New York.

Sunday morning we had our 33rd Regatta which is always exciting and many who live on the lake look forward to seeing these beautiful boats show their stuff on the water. The day ended with the Boy Scouts Chicken Barbeque. It was an absolute great weekend and had many compliments on all the beautiful boats that entered the show. And I have to also thank all our wonderful volunteers. Without them this show would be not be possible.

I have to thank all of our wonderful volunteers that help with the show this year and without you it would not have been the success that it was.

———————————— A couple of things I would like to bring to your attention, please make sure to let me know of any changes to your home address, phone numbers and especially emails. We all change our emails often or move and if you don’t let me know you will not be getting any information on upcoming events even though they are always on the website. Going forward I will be sending the newsletter out in an email. It will also be on the website which is winecountryclassicboats.com. If you would like to have the newsletter sent to you at home, please email me at [email protected] or call me at 315-694-7420 and I will send it out in the mail. It is cost prohibitive to continue to send it in the mail since so many of us have access to the website on our phones, iPads and com-puters. I will also be adding pictures to Trading Dock. If you have an ad in this newsletter and on the website and would like me to include a photo, please send it to me and it will be added to the website and newsletter.

What a great boating season we all enjoyed! The weather was a huge plus this year and I think we can all agree that our boat show was a big suc-cess as well. We wit-nessed an increased num-ber of registered boats and different boats than in pre-vious years — more visi-tors to the show, and per-fect weather. I want to thank you again for your help and participation with this years’ show.

Everyone that ventured north to Port Severn for our 2016 Fall Trip certainly had a great time, and a big ‘thank you’ to Doug Vittum and John Ford for putting the trip together! Great boating, great food, and great attractions all made for a fun week. We have several events planned for the last few months of 2016: Saturday, November 5 — Annual fall workshop at Hullings Hulls, located off of Route 54

near Dresden. Hosted by Adam Hullings, the workshop includes lunch and an auction, along with several in-formative classes. Clean out your workshop, garage or boat house and bring those unwanted items to the workshop auction! Sunday, December 11 — Annual Wine Country Christmas Party. The party is being

moved from Ed and Nancy Wightman’s home to Jack and Patti’s home in Penn Yan this year. So, dig out your holiday duds and your Christmas spirit and enjoy the season! The menu is yet to be determined.

Stay tuned for plans that are coming together for the 2017 Fall Trip to the Rideau River and Canal next September. Remember that this chapter is what it is, not because of all we do, but because of you, the members of Wine Country Classic Boats!

WCCB Fall Trip 2016 Severn Lodge, Port Severn, Ontario Canada

Doug Vittum wrote a great article about our adventures on our fall trip to the Severn Lodge, Port Severn, Ontario, Canada. You can find it on our website under Fall Trip 2016. It is too long for inserting into the newsletter but it is full of all the fun things we did and it includes many beautiful pictures of this amazing part of Canada. You can see pictures of our trip starting on page 7 of this newsletter. The trip started out on Sunday, September 11 and we all packed up and left on Thursday, September 15. We are again going to Canada next year for our fall trip.
