COMMUNITY NEWS

VEPS MKR Is Coming!!!!

Calling all Villawood East’s budding cooks! In Term 2, we will be commencing our own version of ‘My Kitchen Rules’. We would love any parent, carer or community member interested in providing a favourite recipe and maybe volunteer to demonstrate how to cook it, to complete and return the note that will be distributed this week. Come and join in the fun of sharing amazing food and I bet a lot of laughs.

On Thursday 24th March, Villawood East celebrated Easter by holding a hat parade. Our creative students made and decorated hats either in class or at home. It was great to see so many parents attend the parade and enjoy the wonderful show of colourful hats.

HARMONY DAY

Villawood East celebrated Harmony Day on Monday, 21st March. Students were encouraged to dress in their cultural dress or the colour orange to spread the message of inclusiveness, respect and that ‘everyone belongs’.

The school community were invited to share a picnic lunch with students and then socialise at an afternoon tea where each person supplied a plate of food of their cultural background. We had a wonderful turn up of parents and carers who provided an interesting selection of cakes, biscuits for their background.
