Dear Friends,
Grace and Peace to you!
These are exciting days at Auburn UMC. As I
write this article, over 500 children are enjoying
Vacation Bible School. It is such a joy to
experience our children enjoying this special
week. We give thanks to all of our crew leaders,
volunteers, parents, grandparents, and children. I
hope that you will make plans to join us this
Sunday as we celebrate Father’s Day and hear
music from our VBS children during worship. In these days we are also celebrating the
conclusion of our 2018 Annual
Conference. It was exciting to celebrate
the ordination of Rev. Chris Kelsey.
Chris is a beacon of light to all of us.
During our Annual Conference we also
celebrated the 20th anniversary of
Alabama Rural Ministry and Rev. Lisa
Pierce.
We are also very excited to receive the
appointment of Rev. Kelli Hitchman-Craig as
the newest member of our clergy team at
AUMC. Kelli will begin serving AUMC in
July, and in next week’s Village Methodist
article we will introduce you to Kelli. I am
especially grateful to our lay delegates from
Auburn who took time to travel daily to
Montgomery for this important gathering of
United Methodists. Thank you!
Finally, we give thanks for our youth
mission team who returned home this week
from Haiti. We also pray for our M25
Youth Mission trip. This week many of our
young people will travel to the inner city of
Atlanta. We pray for Marc Baugh and his
team of leaders and all of those who will
participate in sharing God’s love with
others.
Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Auburn UMC. I look
forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Grace and Peace,
Cory

Connect Your Passion with the World’s Great Need.
Every day we see that things are not right in our world, and as followers
of Jesus Christ, we have an impulse to do something about it. We long
to connect our passions and gifts with the world's great needs, making a
unique contribution for the healing of the world. In Make a Difference,
author James A. Harnish helps you answer the questions "How can I
contribute to God's healing work in this world?"; and "How can I find
my place to serve and make a difference?" Drawing upon biblical
wisdom and real stories of real people who have found their place to
serve, he provides practical guidance to help every disciple make a
difference as a participant in God's transformation of the world. Order your book at www.cokesbury.com or contact Ann Moss
[email protected] by June25.
