Come experience life at The Village
at Brookwood.Quality homes, superior amenities
and personalized services …
combined with the charm and
beauty of a Carolina lifestyle.
As a premier Continuing Care
Retirement Community located in
central North Carolina, The Village
at Brookwood offers an ideal location
in a state unsurpassed as a retirement
destination. Burlington, N.C., is located
midway between the Research Triangle
Park area of Raleigh, Durham and
Chapel Hill and the Piedmont Triad
region of Greensboro, High Point and
Winston-Salem.
When you live at The Village, the
splendor of the Carolina coastline and
magnificence of the state’s mountains
are within a morning’s drive.
Newcomers to North Carolina will
experience four distinct seasons. Winters
are mostly mild, and springs are early
and bursting with colors of native
plants such as hydrangea, azalea and the
beautiful pink and white dogwood trees,
North Carolina’s state flower.
The Carolina Lifestyle Noing Could Be Finer
Rich in history and replete with southern charm, Burlington is located in the heart
of the North Carolina Piedmont. A growing city, Burlington is home to nationally-
recognized Elon University and major retail centers, including the newly opened
Tanger Outlets. The internationally renowned Replacements Limited is only a
20-minute drive.
You’ll be at ease entertaining family members in this beautiful
city and county that boasts:
A well-established recreation and parks system with
walking tracks, boating, biking and hiking trails
Burlington City Park, home to amusement rides,
including the restored 1910 Dentzel carousel
The Haw River Wine Trail, a favorite day trip with four
local wineries located along the length of the river
Thirteen public and private golf courses with designs by
Tom Jackson, Koch/Robbins, Ellis Maples and Ed Seay
The Paramount Theater, the jewel of historic downtown Burlington, a
restored 1920s theater palace that is now a venue for performing arts
Many locally-owned and operated restaurants that offer their unique
personal cuisines and specialties, in addition to the nationwide chains that
are familiar to all
Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of life in Burlington is its location. Residents
are within minutes of world-renowned universities and health care, sports and
entertainment venues, golf courses, historical treasures, arts and culture — without
the stress of enduring the congestion and traffic of the more highly populated areas.

A highly desirable location is but one distinguishing difference of life at The Village at
Brookwood. Here, you will find a vibrant community and an active lifestyle with an emphasis
on whole-person wellness. On campus, you have access to the full continuum of health care
services along with the security and peace of mind of being part of a community sponsored by
the Alamance Regional Medical Center, proposed partner in the Cone Health network.
Here’s what makes us different …
Whole-Person WellnessWellness is about much more than the absence of illness or disease — it is a state of well-being
attained when there is a balance among the different aspects of our lives, including:
Physical Spiritual
Cognitive/intellectual Vocational
Nutritional Social/emotional
The Village at Brookwood’s on-site Wellness Coordinator will work with you to design
individualized plans to meet personal goals and extend your years of health and independence.
Lifelong LearningOpportunities abound for continued intellectual stimulation and growth at The Village.
Book clubs and reading groups bolster intellectual focus, and a variety of computer programs
stimulate memory and improve skills in spatial concepts and reaction times. Visiting
professors and experts often speak on campus, providing new topics, insights and
perspectives. Village residents frequently attend the guest speaking
engagements at nearby Elon University, and they
also may participate in Life@Elon, a lifelong
learning program for people 50 and older.

DiningWith an award-winning chef
and three distinct dining venues
offering superb quality and variety,
dining at The Village emphasizes
not only taste, but the entire
dining experience. We provide
an unbeatable combination of
excellent food, warm atmosphere,
camaraderie and exquisite service
to make the dining experience a
special one.
Intimate SizeWith a campus of 50 acres and fewer
than 200 residents, The Village
is conducive to building a close-
knit community. Residents form
friendships throughout the campus
rather than just knowing immediate
neighbors. The small size also
allows staff to connect to residents
and deliver a greater breadth and
depth of services to meet the
individual needs of each resident.
A Variety of Choices The Village at Brookwood is one of
the few nonprofit continuing care
retirement communities (CCRC)
that offers LifeCare contracts in
addition to Fee-for-Service options.
A variety of refund options are
also available. Residents are able to
choose the plan that best fits their
needs and finances.
Relationship to a Regional Medical CenterThe Village at Brookwood is the
only CCRC in North Carolina that is
sponsored by a local medical center:
Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Alamance Regional offers support,
guidance and resources — a special
relationship that allows access to
the latest in medical advances and
preventive medicine. Admissions
and discharges during periods of
hospitalization and recuperation
are seamless between Alamance
Regional and The Village.
A Secure FutureThe complete continuum of
care is offered at The Village,
beginning with a carefree lifestyle in
independent living in a garden home
or apartment. Then when needed,
in-home assistance, assisted living,
memory support and skilled nursing
offers additional support so you
may be secure in knowing you are
prepared for any of life’s unforeseen
circumstances.
