To ask where someone is going to, we use the phrase ¿Adónde?
Ejemplo: ¿Adónde vas?
Where are you going?/Where do you go?

A + el = al
The verb ir is often used with the word a (to) to say that someone is going to a specific place.
In Spanish, when the word a is followed by the word el, they combine to form the contraction al.

Note: We do not use this contraction with “a la”, “a las” & “a los”. We only use it with “a + el”
