The variable resistor has been adjusted,VR1 so that the resistance between terminal A and B ( Figure 7-3
a ) measures 1000. The resistance of the variable resistor is always measured when it is disconnected
from the circuit
Part A
1. Edutech Edu-9900M Electricity 5 Module Board on the Edutech Analog Lab base Unit.2. The circuit in Figure 7-3 b has been connected. The power is always switched off before wiring
the circuit. Instructor already check and approved before step 3
3. Base unit has been off. Slowly increase the voltage until the voltmeter reads 2V, Voltmeter hasbeen disconnected, the shorted links between 2.6 & 2.7 has been removed and replaced with
ammeter by connecting the positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7. The
ammeter reading has been recorded in the 2V column
4. Ammeter has been removed and shorting links has been connected back between socket 2.6 &2.7. Positive lead of voltmeter has been connected to socket 2/5 and negative lead to socket
2.30. Voltage has been adjusted again until the voltmeter reads 4V. Voltmeter has been
disconnected, shorting links between socket 2.6&2.7 has been removed and replaced with
ammeter by connecting the positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7.
Ammeter reading has been recorded in the 4V column
5. Ammeter has been removed and shorting links between 2.6&2.7 has been connected back.Positive lead of the voltmeter has been connected to socket 2.5 and negative lead has been
connect to 2.30. Voltage has been adjusted until the voltmeter reads 6V. voltmeter has been
disconnected, shorted links between 2.6&2.7 and replace it with ammeter by connecting the
positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7. the ammeter reading has been
recorded in the 6V column
6. Ammeter has been removed and the shorting links between socket 2.6 & 2.7. positive lead ofthe voltmeter has been connected to socket 2.5 and negative lead to socket 2.30. voltage has
been adjusted until the voltmeter reads 8V. voltmeter has been disconnected, shorted links
between socket 2.6&2.7 and replaced with ammeter by connecting the positive leads to socket
2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7. ammeter reading has been recorded in the 8V column.
Base unit has been turned off
7. Value V/I has been calculated for each of our test values of voltage and current in table 7-2.Answers has been recorded in the V/I row of the table
8. From step 7, we able to deduce the relationships between V and I. relationship has been wrote,formula in table 7-2 where indicated
9. After using the formula in step 8. The value of I when V = 5.5 and V = 11V has been calculated.Answers in the formula test section of table 7-2 has been calculated in the I row
10.Base unit has been turned on. Ammeter has been removed and connected back the shortinglinks between 2.6 & 2.7. positive lead of the voltmeter to socket 2.5 and negative lead to socket
2.30. voltage has been adjusted again until the voltmeter reads 5.5V. ammeter has been
disconnected, shorted links has been remove between socket 2.6&2.7 and replaced with

ammeter by connecting the positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7.
ammeter reading has been recorded in the I measured row
11.Ammeter has been removed and the shorting links between socket 2.6 & 2.7 has beenconnected back. Positive lead of the voltmeter has been connected to socket 2.5 and negative
lead to socket 2.30. voltage has been adjusted again until the voltmeter reads 11v. voltmeter
has been disconnected, shorted links between socket 2.6 & 2.7 has been removed and replaced
with ammeter by connecting the positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7.
ammeter reading has been recorded in the I measured row. Base unit has been turned off
12.Variable resistor has been removed from the circuit
Part B
Variable resistor has been adjusted so that the resistance across AB is 2000 as in Figure 7-3a
1. Variable resistor has been restored to the circuit in figure 7-3b. base unit has been on .ammeter has been removed and the shorting links between the socket 2.6 & 2.7 connected
back. Positive lead of the voltmeter has been connected socket 2.5 and negative lead to socket
2.30. voltage has been adjusted until the voltmeter reads 4V. voltmeter has been disconnected,
shorted links between socket 2.6 & 2.7 has been removed and replaced with ammeter by
connecting positive leads to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7. ammeter reading has
been recorded in the 4V row
2. Step 1 has been repeated using voltage 6V, 8V, 10V in order. All the ammeter readings has beenrecorded in table 7-3. Base unit has been turned off
3. Value of V/I for each of your test values of voltage and current in step 1 and 2 has beencalculated. Answers has been recorded in V/I row in table 7-3 for each V and I
4. Formula for the V and I relationship has been wrote to indicate in step 3. Formula in table 7-3has been recorded where it indicated
5. After using the formula in 4, value of I when V= 6V and V = 12V has been calculated. Answers inthe formula test section of table 7-3 in the I calculated row has been recorded
6. Base unit has been turned on. Ammeter has been removed and the shorting links betweensocket 2.6&2.7 has been connected back. Positive lead of the voltmeter to socket 2.5 and
negative lead to socket 2.30. voltage has been adjusted again until the voltmeter reads 6V.

7. Ammeter has been removed and the shorting links between socket 2.6 & 2.7 has beenconnected back. Positive lead of the voltmeter to socket 2.5 has been connected and negative
lead to socket 2.30. voltage has been adjusted again until the voltmeter reads 12V. voltmeter
has been disconnected, shorted links between socket 2.6 & 2.7 has been removed and replaced
with ammeter by connecting the positive lead to socket 2.6 and negative leads to socket 2.7.
ammeter reading has been recorded in the I measured row.

Procedures of part A and B has been repeated using a variable resistance of 3000. The test voltages are
6V, 8V, 10V, 12V. the formula test voltages are 7V and 14V. all data for part C has been recorded in table
7-4
Part D
Procedures of part A and B has been repeated using a variable resistance of 4000. The test voltages
are 6V, 8V, 10V, 12V. the formula test voltages are 8V and 15V. all data for part C has been recorded in
table 7-4
