2. How the band formed
The band formed in 2001, where two of the 4 members decided to create a band. The band had no lead singer, and decided to hold auditions in Brendon, a former member of the band. The auditions did not go so well, and they ended up not using anyone form that audition. They then met up with a singer called Bert McCracken. They officially formed in 2001.

3. Living like a star...
The band had many problems through out their career. These included regular drug use, poverty and homelessness. They ended up having to panhandle for change just to stay alive, and many of these problems influenced their music.

4. The Used
The name came to them due to the idea that their friends claimed they felt "used" when they lost contact between the band members because the band became more involved with each other.

5. Rise to fame
The band recorded their first album Demos from the Basement, and got in contact with a producer called John Feldmann who tried to get the band signed with a record company. They eventually signed with Reprise Records, a record company linked with Warnerbrosrecords, a very famous worldwide known record label known for various genres of music. It was here that The Used started to get noticed.

• The Used have 4 studio recorded albums, that range from alternative rock, to rock, to screamo and to emo in genre characteristics.
