The University of Texas at Tyler 2014-2016 COLLEGE OF NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree for beginning and licensed (RN) students. The undergraduate program is fully accredited through the Board of Nurses for the State of Texas and nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Upon successful completion of the BSN curriculum at the Tyler, Longview, or Palestine campus, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The following sequence of courses is required at UT Tyler in order to complete the requirements for the BSN. Core Curriculum and Nursing pre- requisite courses are completed during the freshmen and sophomore years. The student is eligible to apply to the Nursing track if all pre-requisite courses have been completed with an overall grade point average of 2.75 or higher and the grade point average for Anatomy and Physiology I, II, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Lifespan Developmental Psychology and Introduction to Psychology is also a 2.75 or higher.
