DR.M.HARIHARAN, M.Mus.,M.Ed.,Ph.D, an academician with a background in music and vedic astrology , is a music therapist, sound healer, vocal musician and a vedic astrologer .He hails from a family of musicians and astrologers, he has travelled widely throughout USA and has visited almost all the Hindu temples in USA on spiritual and on performance assignments.

WILLIAM MAIDMENT, a resident of Fairfield, is one of the managing partner of the Hindu Temple Tours USA .LLC.

In the vedic period there were no temples. The main object of worship was fire that stood for god. This holy fire was lit on a platform in the open air under the sky, and oblations were offered to the fire. It is not certain when exactly the indo-Aryans first started building temples for worship. The scheme of building temples was perhaps a concomitant of the idea of idol worship.

HINDUISM

However with globalization on the rise, some of Americans have become more open to the concepts and teachings of Hinduism. Many Americans today practice. These concepts have their origins in the vedic culture i.e. Mainstream Hinduism. Recent researches documents over 200 of these Temples within the United states.

The earliest traditional Hindu temple in the united states is the Maha Vallabha Ganapathi temple in flushing, New York city. Other earliest temples in

USA , include  the Malibu Hindu temple in Calabasas Shree Rajeshwari temple at Austin. The Parashakthi temple in Pontiac, Michigan, Hare Krishna temple (ISKCON) in Los Angeles.
