Queen’s University has a reputation for being exceptional, and this applies not only to our academic achievements, but also to our beautiful and historic campus, our food offering and our customer service.

Our wedding receptions are accommodated in two stunning and flexible locations: the iconic Lanyon site on the main University campus; and in nearby Stranmillis, Riddel Hall, a graceful Grade 2-listed building set in its own beautifully landscaped gardens.

Our highly experienced, professional in-house weddings team are on hand from the initial planning stages right through to the last dance, to ensure your day is perfect and filled with memories to treasure for a lifetime.

The Lanyon Building

This spectacular and unique building is the centrepiece of the University. It comprises a number of distinctive rooms and spaces ideal for receptions and ceremonies. The stunning cloisters and quadrangle can also be used for outdoor receptions. ‘We didn’t look at any other venues, and we never regretted our choice. The staff at Queen’s could not have been more helpful in the planning stages or the day itself. They are a credit to the University!’

The Great Hall

Beautiful and atmospheric, the Great Hall has developed an enviable reputation as one of the most unique wedding venues in Northern Ireland. The magnificent panelled walls display a selection of portraits from the University’s art collection, creating a warm, powerful and theatrical space at the heart of the Lanyon Building.

The Canada Room & Council Chamber

This sunny first-floor space, which is suitable for ceremonies or small receptions, offers panoramic views over the University lawns and features a charming minstrel gallery.

The Harty Room

Perfect for both civil and religious ceremonies, the Harty Room is a beautifully intimate Tudor-style space with oak beams and a stunning stained glass window. It also features a bright, spacious modern foyer area.

Queen’s Film Theatre

Create your own showstopping ceremony at this unique venue, conveniently located next to the Lanyon Building.

Fully licensed, with a modern bar area perfect for cocktails and canapes, we can even add a cinematic flourish to your special day with a film screening of your choice.

Riddel Hall

A stunning, Grade 2-listed building set in 13 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, it’s easy to see why Riddel Hall was voted ‘Best Wedding Venue in Belfast’ at the Northern Ireland Wedding Awards 2017. Located a short walk from the main campus in fashionable Stranmillis, this unique venue provides a picturesque country setting right in the heart of the city.

Sympathetically renovated to retain many of its original features, Riddel Hall offers a choice of grand drawing rooms for your ceremony and a stunning glass courtyard for your reception. The gardens and grounds present the perfect backdrop for photographs.

Photographs are such an important part of a wedding, and at Queen’s we are able to offer a stunning choice of locations across the campus, from beautiful gardens and landscaped grounds to historic architecture and breathtakingly evocative spaces. Our team are highly experienced professionals who have organised memorable events at the University for international dignitaries, royalty and presidents. They will bring the same dedication, passion and attention to detail to your wedding day.

We offer a comprehensive range of room hire and menu options. Of course, if you prefer, we can also design a bespoke menu and package to meet your needs. Whichever one of our unique venues you choose, we are here to accommodate you completely, with a dedicated wedding co-ordinator attending to every detail, from your red-carpet arrival to table settings and flowers.
