WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GET

INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?I decided to get into the industry

when my cousin started writing raps

and invited me to try it and make a

song together. After writing my first verse

I knew this is what I wanted to do I knew this is what I wanted to do

and since then I’ve just been going

at it.

WHERE DOES YOUR STAGE NAME

COME FROM?I got my name from a bunch of homies of

mine when we made a rap group by

the name of the name of Twizted N Wicked. They said

my grind was non-stop that I was restless at what I do. Hence, the name Restlezz came

with two Z’s instead of S’s.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?I have a lot of influences so ill just name off some of my top ones. Now I don’t

bang or nothing but Woodie from Antioch, California is my biggest influence

straight gangsta shit. Then it would be Tech N9ne, Brotha Lynch Hung, Mac

Dre, Juvenile, Nelly, Ludacris, T.I, and I won’t even lie I heard some ICP shit

that was dope enough to inspire me.

OTHER THAN MUSIC, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES OTHER THAN MUSIC, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES

AND INTERESTS?I like fixing and building computers I actually got certified for it and I also

Photoshop certified. I enjoy spending time with my kids, wife, and family it’s

always good times pounding back some brews. I always like to get my Madden

on and take some people’s money I’m always collecting on foo’s. Man I like to do

a lot of things I can’t think of them all.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GET INTO THE

MUSIC INDUSTRY?

I originally took up writing and doing music as a

hobby at the age of 15. I was following the trend at

my high school I aended, in Pisburgh, PA. I also

saw writing as an opportunity to put my problems on

paper. Once I figured out rhythm, timing and the paper. Once I figured out rhythm, timing and the

correct writing structure, shit took off from there.

I decided recently to go hard at music because I

respect how the industry evolves. In other words I

like a work place that is constantly changing because

it keeps me on my toes!

WHERE DOES YOUR STAGE NAME COME FROM?

honestly cannot tell you. Let me just say, I have always

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY?

The state of Hip-Hop?? I think the state of it is like any other profession,

in with new as the old begin to fall back. Do I think that’s good? I do

because it opens up vacancies for new talent and it opens our ears to

new sounds. Nonetheless, I think Hip-Hop is intact, especially when

you are just focusing on you and creating your authentic sound.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GET INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

Music has been a large reality of my life since I was about 3. I did a

commercial or a video...something like that in Chicago, Ill. I remember

impersonating "Another Bad Creation" Iesha and I did the rap part of the

song. The thrill, the excitement, the lights, the swag (even though back then

I didn't know what swag was lol ). I said to myself, Ima do this for ever.

WHERE DOES YOUR STAGE NAME COME FROM? WHERE DOES YOUR STAGE NAME COME FROM?

The name "Braggy" came from the word "Braggadocio". I ended up spliing

it into 2 words... first is "Braggy" (the artist). Then its "Docio" (the company).

It's kind of like the "Rapper" and the "Label" all in one because I'm a business man as well. My stage name use to be "Prey Boy"

but Soulja Boy came out with that song "Prey Boy Swag" when I was on my extended vacation (laughs)-so I had to become what the

world know now as "Braggy Nation".WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

My musical influence and probably always will be the ultimate Shawn Carter. A.K.A Jay-Z, Jigga Man,

HOV. I grew up on Nas and B.I.G. I never listened to much PAC as a youngin but as I got older,

I started to really appreciate his genius. I imagine how I would've been if this guy was apart of "my"

construction on my view point and expressions of hip hop.

OTHER THAN MUSIC, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS?OTHER THAN MUSIC, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS?

I like to play chess believe it or not. I enjoy creating scenarios and figuring out the puzzle of overcoming

such threats. I love to work out and to me, "Rapping" is a hobby to me even though it is now my

profession because I do it to relax, think or just enjoy my leisure.

WHAT 'MAINSTREAM' ARTISTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET A FEATURE FROM?

I would like to get a feature from, right now 2013, ....Drake. I think it would be an amazing experience

to work with Kanye and amongst the very new, I would like to work with Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole. to work with Kanye and amongst the very new, I would like to work with Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole.

(But I would have to keep my eye on Kendrick LOL)

Page 24: The Underground Fix Magazine Issue #9

WHAT DOES 2013 LOOK LIKE FOR BRAGGY?

A lot of Ground work because this is the foundation of our brand which we plan on delivering to fans internationally 2014.

WHERE CAN OUR READERS GO TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR MUSIC?

To find out about "Braggy Nation" my best advice would be to add me on facebook: Braggy Nation. I accept all request

because I think its important for my listeners to see me day-to-day as well, so when they hear my art they can say.."He really

lives like that..."lives like that..."

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY?

I think Hip Hop is in a great state right now....Thanks Kendrick (laughs)

ARE YOU SIGNED TO OR AFFILIATED WITH A LABEL?

I am currently under management w/ Lady Scribe of SRE Media Group. A free agent as far as a label goes, but we plan on going

MAJOR all the way!MAJOR all the way!IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

WITH OUR READERS?

If anybody tells you "you can't", Remember, there was a guy who

heard that his whole life. A guy that didn't let even the lowest form

of humanity (being a prisoner) distract him from his dreams and

visions. A guy that you are reading about!! So it CAN be done. one

step at a time. step at a time.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GET INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

I always been surrounded by music. I love the lifestyle that comes with it. Whenever i get into the mixes i make,

i feel completely free from all the troubles in this world. So many success stories have came from being in this industry

i just want to become the next "Rags to Riches" story, and show the world what i can do as a Dj & businessman.

WHERE DOES YOUR STAGE NAME COME FROM?

I went through a lot of stage names haha! My first stage name was "E-Gizzle" when i wanted to rap. I dropped my

rap mixtape and had 3 downloads. Years later, i saw how creative DJ's could be with mixing & mixtapes. I changed my rap mixtape and had 3 downloads. Years later, i saw how creative DJ's could be with mixing & mixtapes. I changed my

whole name to "DJ Felly Prince". After that, i wanted a more professional name for myself so i won't have to change

it anymore...that's when "Ernest GQ" came along because Ernest is my real name. The GQ came from me having

"Good Quality" music & mixes.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

Im from South Louisiana, so it's only right I look up to Southern Rappers. But i always have looked up to a lot of

West Coast Rappers. I looked up to people like Eazy E, Master P, Snoop Dogg, Mystikal, C Murder, NWA, UGK,

and Geto Boys. I'm a old school type of dude so i like alot of music my Dad or Mom would like. Such as The and Geto Boys. I'm a old school type of dude so i like alot of music my Dad or Mom would like. Such as The

Temptations, Ohio Players, Alexander O'Neal, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Janet Jackson & many more great

entertainers.

OTHER THAN MUSIC, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS?

been featured on MTV.com so that was a great move for my career.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY?WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY?

A lot of people say Hip Hop isn't the same anymore. Hip Hop has become a world wide genre.

People from all over the world is involved in this culture that started in the Bronx back in the day.

You have different styles of Hip Hop music, it's no longer one style..it had evolved into something

massive! I feel that the way Hip Hop is now is great. I love the competitions that are going on right now.

One thing i can say i don't like is how lyrics can get to some people & it becomes a problem.

If you want to rap, then rap there is NO need for violence. It's all about having a great time & enjoying what you do.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?

It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get where I'm at. None of this success was handed to me.

The best thing to do is to stay positive & never let anyone's word hurt you. You will have people that

love you & people that hate you. Keep doing what you love & stay humble with everything. Late nights

& early mornings will all be worth it if you work hard & never give up. There will be times you will give

up on everything, but always remember God will always have your back in anything you do. God Bless.
