The LowellArts! Players present
The Tropical PickleDinner Theater May 1—17Written by Jeff Daniels, The Tropical Pickle is a comedy set in Macomb County and centers on the peculiar Lee family. Bob Lee promises his wife that he will win them a free trip to Miami to represent his company, Shankelferd Pickle, at the National Condiment Convention. The Lee’s plan to impress the new company president with a dinner party, but everything goes awry.
The Dinner Theater productions are held at Larkin’s Other Place, 301 W. Main St.
The Lowell Arts! Players cast cooked up an evening of laughs with February’s performance of Cookin’ With Gus, directed by Amy McDaniel.
In the leading role of Gus, seasoned actress Julie Yob swept the audience up into the playful antics of a small time chef on her way to fame and fortune.
Her frustrated live-in boyfriend Walter, played by David Strejc, created some hysterically funny events with his skill in hypnosis.
Portraying agent Bernie, John Foley set the tone for more comedy with his mannerisms and his ability to pull off some wacky stunts.
Next door neighbor Carmen, a bizarre gypsy with a penchant for the bottle, was played by Jessie Congleton.
