Operation Christmas Child The Shoebox Journey

A shoe box travels thousands of miles to be placed lovingly In the arms of a child God watches over this journey from his kingdom above guiding each box in their journey of love Each box filled with love by your precious hands then sent forth with love to an unknown land

Through the greatest journey millions of children learn of Gods undying love and how to share it in turn So give thanks for all shoe box gifts and for the joy this one simple gift brings BJM 5/22/16 At our packing party in October we as a congregation packed 118 shoe boxes. Awesome job everyone. What a great day. Cecil Pollydore Regional Director for the North East also joined us that day to share the good news. Our boxes have been blessed during the service during the children’s message. As I am writing this article we are in the middle of Collection Week. Every shoe box that comes through the doors of Trinity this week represents another child who will be blessed by a simple gift and a gospel opportunity. Where do I start to say thanks. There are so many people that to name each would be a full page by itself. So to the donors (both the shoe box fillers and monetary), packers, volunteers, those with strong arms that carried items those who baked, set-up, and prayed I truly thank you a hundred times over. This could not happen with out you all. Lastly I want to thank god for the chance to serve him through this wonderful ministry. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas Remember Jesus is the reason for the season. Barbara Mourer OCC Chair and Relay Coordinator

“BRINGING HOPE TO CHILDREN IN INDIA” Kiddies for Kiddies!

Over the 5 years that we are working on SIMON’S HOUSE there have always been kids in the US who thought about the kids at SIMON’S HOUSE. First there were the Music Haven children in New Haven, CT who played their violins, violas and cellos – and at the end had enough money together to support the purchase of a water pump.

Then came the Lego project – teenagers in CT sorted through thousands of Legos … so out boys can - play, just play. A school in Manchester, CT had a Funny Hat Day – and the profits went to SIMON’S HOUSE. Last year a chamber music group within Music Haven used SIMON’S HOUSE as their main theme. They learned about India, they learned to speak up for their counterparts – and they wanted to make it possible so girls in India can go to school. And then there are the children from Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven, CT – they have taken the kids in SIMON’S HOUSE into their heart. They have pictures of the Indian boys all over their room – they are not shy when it comes to raising funds – selling hearts on Mother’s Day, having a candy raffle or organizing a bake sale. Last week the Reach Dalit board sent the quarterly support to India. And we added the “Kiddies for Kiddies” money on top of the basic provision. With the holidays ahead of us the kids decided our boys at SIMON’S HOUSE should get something extra. We leave it to the Indian side what that extra means.

Kiddies for Kiddies – it can’t get any better. We are thankful!
