The Point Yacht Club Newsletter
March 2019 Vol. 18 No. 2
The Point Yacht Club Mission Statement
This Club exists to provide water related recreational opportunities for its members. We are dedicated to encouraging the safe and skilled operation of vessels owned by the members. The Club is a not for profit organization operated for the benefit of the members.
Your club has enjoyed superb winter activities which helps us get through the often grey days
we experience this time of the year. The Chili Cookoff was a big success. The clubhouse was
full of members (and their many guests) to enjoy the offerings of the nine chefs who cooked.
Many thanks to Kathy Cunningham for pulling together this really fun event. (And thanks to all
those who helped.)
Mardi Gras showed us another opportunity for the display of club members culinary skills with
John Shaw serving up his Jambalaya. Thanks to John and to those who helped decorate the
PtYC float for the royal DisOrder of Riff Raff parade. I’m sure it was a good time for all the
participants and spectators.
The Wheelbarrow Regatta is March 23. This event kicks off the sailing season for 2019. (For
you new members, the entry fee is a bottle of hootch.) Let’s see if we can’t put a lot of boats in
this kickoff regatta. And I’m sure there’ll be a good party afterwards.
See you on the water soon!
